Another serious question....boat is in for blacking next week. Had loads of problems with previous blacking flaking off so it is being taken off with a Tercoo to base metal. Lots of different opinions as to whether it should have a rust convertor eg Fertan applied or not before whatever coating I use goes on. Why is it so difficult to do the right thing lol.....

Keelblack recommend Fertan, I understand the people who have had troubles with it was because it wasn't washed off properly.
I have had a problem with Fertan in the past (not with Keelblack) but at the time I was not advised how important the washing off thoroughly was. Since then I have used another rust killer that does not require the washing off. In Your position I would go along with the manufacturer of Keelbblack's advice (but being very thorough with the washing down after) But like all these things, you pays yer moneys and takes yer choice
