Three threads have been removed at the request of the poster, Graham.
I'd rather not remove threads but have done so this once as a gesture of good will. Please only post threads here if you are happy for them to remain for the life of the forum.

I wondered what had happened to that battery thread that I was in the middle of viewing when the third page suddenly wasn't available. Roger

Well I'm sorry to see them gone
Flawed or not it was a very good introduction to batteries and easily understandable for a someone without a background in physics and electrical theory. The flaw was at a fairly high technical level and let's be honest would not have really made a great difference to the average boater.
I think it's a shame and another case of the baby being thrown out with the bath water.
There is obviously a need for a basic explanation for some fairly technical subjects to do with boating. and yes, one person describing things simply, might not be strictly accurate so maybe some sort of adjustment could be made possibly to direct them to another explanation.
It is a shame that Nick and Graham could not resolve the differences in a way that allowed the thread to progress.

Wrong decision.
The idiotic post about nn has gone too.
If you aren't prepared to stand by something then just don't say it in the first place or if you regret it or post something in error man up and apologise.
I thought I had landed on CWDF for a sec. when I couldn't find the missing threads.

Can all of us who mildly criticised his behaviour expect a letter from a lawyer soon then?

Can all of us who mildly criticised his behaviour expect a letter from a lawyer soon then? I'm afraid Graham does seem to be over sensitive to criticism but having said that, Nick is inclined to come in all guns blazing.

To be clear: I will not remove any future threads at the request of the poster. Do not start a thread here if there is a chance of you changing your mind at a later date.

I had a dilemma with the battery thread. His first thread on cables had been quite good I thought. Most of his battery thread was ok except that had "bulk charge" completely wrong. Could have just let it go but on the other hand, why should graham be beyond correction and allowed to post wrong information just because he is grumpy? So I made the correction is a courteous but frank way. And yes, true to form he didn't like it!
All guns blazing? Well not for me to say but I didn't think so. If we had to couch every disagreement in vague and flowery language on here, it would be weird!

If you regret posting something there is always briefly the opportunity to edit it out. Though of course if somebody quotes you its then too late.

I asked for the thread to be removed for just one reason. I wrote something that was supposed to be a very simple explanation of something; it was not meant to be technically accurate, it stated that it was not meant to be technically accurate. It was meant and I think did what was intended, to explain to a totally none technical mind a bit about electrics. It painted a picture in broad-brush strokes. Then to have to spend longer than I spent writing it defending something that painted a picture to someone and got the idea into a head is just not worth the agro nor time. So to stop the agro I removed it the threads. I think long term that will be better for the forum and how it is viewed outside.
Re the NN thread it was an attempt to get the agro off of the thread that seemed important to one person, someone who had been frightened to ask questions on CW because of the attitude but had asked me because it seemed they could feel comfortable with my use of language. I also receive an email that day pointing out that inaccurate information had been posted about me on CW by Nick Norman, the sender knows the facts so not unreasonably I asked for its removal. Yep it was in retrospect the wrong route to go but unfortunately it seems Nick Norman and I can't exist in the same space. Oh BTW the said gentleman was as far as I am concerned and have been told was partly if not majorly responsible for my removal from CW.
Where technically does a bath sponge join a battery plate?
I will not engage with any discussion nor will I post any further articles, I have given my email to the person the article seemed important to and if it is wished I will help by that route.
Yep I am very hurt and upset, sensitive well I survived over 500 posts on here so not that sensitive.
And no Nick Norman don't think that a post saying oh I am sorry etc will cut any ice, because frankly you are not sorry and I do not believe you ever mean it when you have written similar in the past, it is the political thing for you to say so you say it.
To everyone else follow your own mind do not follow others and have open minds things are not always as they seem.

I am completely unable to my head around the subject at all even thought my husband keeps explaining how it all works to me. Unfortunately to him it is simple and obvious and he really can't understand why I 'don't get it' I would love to see posts that might eventually, maybe, perhaps make it make sense to me.
