Yes, a whole heard of them paddled past me in the dark a while ago, hence my thread.

I've not come across one to be fair, even though they are everywhere in big herds.
Must look harder.

Wow, so I presume you nearly hit them during one of your nighttime travels?

I've seen some lovely pics of them out on the solent. In some ways this is my point. Where Iām moored at the moment there is so much beautiful water with no boats on it. But no the choose to use the narrow canal with boats moored on both sides, strange.

I watched a young blonde lady in a wet suit climb aboard a paddle board and paddle away whilst moored by the Two Boats, Long Itchington. It was very dangerous and harmful to my health ... I nearly fell in watching her Woof ! Rog

That's an interesting point, yes they are only dangerous to themselves but I suppose it must be that if they were to collide with a moving boat, that boater may not be able able live with any serious injuries that may occur.
We see it all the time with comments about cyclists not wearing a helmet.
They cannonly hurt themselves but everyone comments still.

Paddleboarding is a fad. If you can take one out on the ocean and surf waves with it, I get it. Otherwise, once you've learned how not to fall off the thing all you're doing is paddling up and down, repetitively. If the intention is to do it regularly for fitness that makes sense. Otherwise, I foresee lots of people who have bought them doing it a few times then getting bored and never doing it again.
If anyone is after a used paddleboard hang on a year or so, there will be plenty of bargains around.
