I know I'm a bit of a numpty when getting to the real details. But if it was my problem....
Next time the issue happens, I'd let the washer/dryer/other electrics drain the batteries to a sensible low level according to the gauges, with the alternater running. Then disconnect a battery or two and measure the battery voltage.
Hopefully this would help start eliminating things.
If this has already been done or proved not useful then feel free to ignore...

I reckon that its in the negative wiring.
Is there a shunt for a gauge in the negative cable from the batteries? Is it wet, corroded, or something dropped on it?

I've had problems with high amperage fuses before now.
Seems unlikely there would be one between alternator and battery.
If it's an earth fault it will be worth checking the contents of the flower pots.

Nicks advice is sound, its what i would do next, tedious as it may be it should show the area where the problem lies.
Hopefully

Terrible devices unless ferrules are used. With ferrules they can be okay but still diabolical.

Only beaten by scotchlocksΒ Wago connectors however ππ» I bought some wago type connectors recently and the orange levers keep breaking off when opening up. I guess the original ones are okay and these ones look very similar but not same quality. Also they probably are not meant to be used for opening and closing. A one job product rather than a convenient detachable connector.
