I thought vents were advisory on BS scheme. Obviously its handy to have vents anyway but I am under the perhaps wrong impression that you don't actually have to cut holes in the cabin to pass a BS.

Agreed but opening windows left partly open sorts that out it doesn't officially count as ventilation as you can just close them but if you leave them open a bit then airflow is dealt with. I'm not sure about the BS it was definitely compulsory initially and lots of boats had unsightly holes cut in doors and cabins but I'm pretty sure it became advisory however it might have gone back to being compulsory. Early on in the BS scheme people were sticking mushroom vents on with silicone just so they could comply. Obviously its related to appliances as well as human occupancy so a fixed gas install would make a difference to the requirements .

Just been to busy with the other bits, I could of asked my BSS examiner as was talking to him before as i have gas leaks now. All three taps are leaking as each appliance has its own pipe run. Now i noticed tonight i am VERY low on gas, when i fired up the Malaga and Porpex they cut out due to low gas supply. Examiner said that maybe the problem with bubbles in the tester due to low pressure. Will see when i get are fill tomorrow and call him back. Well this weekend i painted the bugger. Near killed me lol, and snow blindness wasnt good lol. two coats primer then two coats of paint, will be giving it anohter some time soon when i have done the underwater line. Will do that bit by bit as still not had the op. Getting there now i reckon. Sorry the pics arent to good it was late when i finished and sun was going down.

Oh yes and plans have changed for the canopy a little, I am planning a full hardtop, well extending this one and having a canvas sunroof panel with canvas sides.

Overtightening gland nuts can make the leak. Have you tried the leak detector spray? Or a lighter! I used an ordinary manometer, cheaper than the lpg one. I've fitted a bubble tester on this boat, the BSS guy used it to test, didn't have to disturb the normal test point, which can be a weak link after testing.

I have been using the washing up liquid mix but today i am going to get some spray just for the sake of its made for the job although i have never had problems with the washing up liquid. . I am sure by now i have over tightened some joints so i will be redoing them one by one. I got some new pipe and olives here, good job i only fitted three joints. fewer the better hey.

The other is tighten the olive nut just with a nip then 1 1/4 turns. A boater I know was driven to taking all the pipework out, sealing the tap ends and putting the whole lot in the cut to test for bubbles - to no avail, it turned out to be a leaking diaphragm on the regulator.

Well Jim i have spent another 2hrs trying to find it to no avail using proper leak detector spray. I replaced one joint though as it was to tight. What is weird though is that the leaks on all three lines and bubbles at the same time at around 21 seconds each, (Three way splitter tap) and also bubble the same when all taps are open. Am i correct in it could be the bubble tester maybe faulty ? It doesnt Bubble when all taps are closed though.
