The thing is, if people call it a Union Jack, then it's called a Union Jack. Language is descriptive, not prescriptive. If people call you a twat ...... then you are called a twat ..... after all language is descriptive, not prescriptive Big fat large hairy balls.

The rules only to apply to cars registered or new plates fitted after the date. Existing eu plates don't need to cover anything up just require an extra uk sticker somewhere. You sure? Anyway, I don’t want a UK badge, I like my GB ones. Used to be proud to cross the channel displaying it. It’s a bloody shambles, thought Brexit was supposed to cut red tape? GB badges just look correct. Would have thought Boris had more important things to sort out. The actual regulations that came into force on the 28th of this montht are here:- www.gov.uk/displaying-number-plates/flags-symbols-and-identifiers

My eye is drawn towards having to cover or remove any GB badges/stickers. Kinda sums up this country nowadays.

What about that trip to 'dam or were you expecting me to drive ? I'm an unvax so probably even less able to travel than you are. I think maybe sticking with horses is best. That's 'The 'Dam'. I was thinking train and ferry. I expect the parking situation over there is worse than bloody Mayfair. But oh yes, you're a heathen twat. They probably won't let you out of the country. Or possibly back in again. Anyway have you even got a passport? ETA the Dutch regard us as lepers and require all the tests and proofs. But in any case they aren't allowing degenerate reprobates in at the moment. Busiiness only, it seems. I think my passport is still valid but not sure actually as it was a ten year one and I think it has stars on it. Oops. Maybe Mayfair is better then.

When we venture abroad next year I'm leaving them as they are but will shove a couple of UK stickers in the glove box one for the car one for the caravan. If we encounter a bored French Gendarme with nowt better to do I will just slap them on and plead I forgot. Enforcement of the rules on this seem pretty lax, but of course if we piss the French off much more that may change.

I wouldn't be surprised. Oh well, I really wanted to visit the Maritime Museum in Amsterdam but maybe for the time being I should settle for another tour of the one in Greenwich. I never did complete the whole thing, it's a big building. Mayfair is ok if you have a cocaine and prostitutes party to go to but otherwise it's quite a bore.

Frankly I think that, in the wake of Brexit, the only decent thing left to do is to say something rude about France's mother and crack on with the channel war.

Greenwich is ok. There is also a little palace there which is sometimes open.
And a yacht club.
And the millennium dome which is incredibly boring/bizarre.
My personal passport does have an expiry date.
Obviously the diplomatic pass is always Clear To Proceed but usually one has to give a reason to obtain clearance and I'm not sure traveling to Amsterdam with someone off a slightly strange internet forum will do. Evangeline will be so worried again as it is her who has to pick up the pieces when I get things wrong.
A woman's work and all that.

We've always had to display the origins of the vehicle, its just in recent years it was incorporated into the number plate to make life easier, they did say form Jan 1st gb would be OK but now not. From now on plates will have UK on. There is no requirement for any older plates to change.

What about yobboes who get number plates with spaces in the wrong places? Do they also need to have country code on them?
And those occasional sporty cars with no front number plates. Coppers don't seem bothered maybe it's a new fashion.

As long as a UK sticker is displayed on the rear of the car for travelling in Europe.
In England nothing is required to be done.
A gb sticker has always been required in Europe this was normally on the plate. The only change is now its required to be a UK sticker, which may or may not be on the plate.

Nomads link says GB plate must be removed .. obviously I’m talking for Europe. Oh well, got a few months to check it out. Probably change by then anyway.
