Another triumph of design brought to you from the inventor of the electric beer platform. That would sell for quite a lot of money in London. I definitely missed a trick there but I just file it away with all the other missed tricks. If I could have a pound for every trick I had missed I would have a lot more pounds than I do. Perhaps missing tricks will become all the rage at some point.

Knowing that the 'lady' has a tendency towards technophobia Ive taken the liberty of tidying your excellent links. They are now clickable without your text wrapped either end of the links. Thank You, I'm not quite as technically challenged as some on the forum but I have a lot to learn.

And since it has an earphone socket it would be fairly easy to connect it to some better speakers. Marvellous, the 'lady' will be able to wear head phones whilst at the tiller and be oblivious to the volley of swear words on her travels. Perfect! Actually, now I have paired my phone with my radio thingy, I can see some advantage for Bluetooth. I have failed to pair my tablet with anything so far as I am not sure how to do it, and it seems to duplicate the phone anyway. Once upon a time bought a pair of headphones with a dongle to attach to a laptop, which had a CD slot which no longer works, so all I have are the headphones, not sure what I can do with them, they were £30! I'm not convinced about the cheapo radiosets, might persevere with a Bluetooth speaker, do they do good sound or is it just mono from the phone. The problem with not buying every gadget as it comes on the market is that one does not know what they actually do to benefit ones wellbeing 😁

great till you try to get the Bose repaired. I came across Minirig, similar price to the Bose, made in Bristol, any problems they fix them. I was using my Bose in the car, it fell off the dash, landed on the USB plug, kaput! www.audiophileon.com/news/minirig-3-review

ETA, Funnily enough it was the charger on mine that packed up after 3 years. They sent me out a new one FOC Those minirigs look really good.

Well. To be fair, you were offered a whole selection ranging down to 30 quid. I suspect you could get one for less than that too, but i personally wouldn't ETA. But yes, I am mad. I live in a 69ft long sewer tube. Draw your own conclusions.

So, I don't need two Anker units to get stereo sound..... unlike some speakers which claim to be stereo, but require two off!

Not all BT speakers will be stereo, so read the blurb before you buy. The Anker soundcore and soundcore 2 are stereo I believe. You only need one of them, I don't think you can pair them. It is possible to buy separate BT speakers that connect together wirelessly to give you a better stereo experience (as the speakers are further apart). I have a couple of these, but they are a bit hit and miss when it comes to connecting them, so they tend to get used individually.

Well, stereo would be better on a catamaran I spose, but what would you use on a triamaran?
