You'll have seen the cats tail and fingers etc for car boot lids, here's the equivalent for a boat, leave them on your back deck, burglars and scrotes will think you are at home. Waterproof for at least 3 weeks.

What happens after 3 weeks of being left on the back deck?
Do they need laundering ?
Am I asking enough questions ?

According to the T&Cs they must be showered once a day...

Showering once a day? Surely they can not put this sort of abuse and harassment in the t&c willy nilly.
There must be a framework of some sort.

It seems only fair to inform the owner of the legs about this.

It seems only fair to inform the owner of the legs about this. Owner? They are inflatable. Modelled on a nice pair. An expert in these matters will be along shortly to confirm this.

Ya bunch of cheeky basrstewards (Patty excluded).
Though it does go to show, clowns CAN be funny and reference to anti fungal ginger covering made me spit out my morning coffee.
AS for the whole reason for laying belly down, that is temporarily resolved (well the prop and weed hatch part of it) - apparently I must upgrade to m16 thread which will mean buying a bigger drill bit than I've got (only have up to m10 'findable' on the boat... there was a m12 somewhere initially when I drilled holes for the solar cables but presumably it'll be with my solder and flux.
I'm gonna try that bulb thing today and see if I get "instant" excitement/turn on/charging voltage or whatever the correct term is.
I also emailed a chap based in stone (Clive Penny I think) to ask him to come and help sort it out once we get back there on 15th Oct... frustrating as it is having to use the genny to keep the freezer going etc. it's "limp along able" until then.
I also need a 2002 regs qualified bss guy as that needs doing in Jan too - seems ridiculous to need someone qualified on such an old set of regs for "non-private boats" when there are newer versions but who am I to argue?

There are other, and better, alternatives to electric drills and drill bits for enlarging holes in steel -- in particular when taking a relatively narrow cut out of an already fairly large hole, . . when the drill bit cutting edges tend to dig in and jam in the hole being enlarged. Of the alternatives to electric drills and drill bits available for enlarging holes, the large round file has proved its worth on countless occasions. They don't get jammed in the hole, they don't break in use, and they're infinitely adaptable regarding the amount any given hole can be enlarged by.

A step drill might do the job, what thickness is the bar? Tony's idea is a good one though, specially if you get the cabin boy to do the work.
