A friend of mine might need a boat transporting from Ely to Oxfordshire. Itβs 32ft by 10ft . Would anybody know of any companies who could do that and how much do you think it would cost?

faffer has some contacts but I think his are hiab trucks. Is it a heavy craft? I had my (heavy) boat moved from Lincolnshire to Berkshire by ES Frisby out of Peterborough a couple of years ago. The haulage was about Β£900 if I remember right. Of course a lot has happened in those two years it could well be more costly now.

I had one of my boats moved by Tuckey's in 2009. Wigan to Henley on Thames.
The bonus was I got to ride in the cab of the Scania truck. That was a really good ride. Great to see the road from a different angle. Literally.

Such a relief it was palpable. I am still palping it.
That one was an inland boat.
I also had a sailing boat road transported from Whitby to somewhere on the Thames.
Definitely an aversion to the choppy stuff!
Also probably should have gone for a house rather than these wretched boats.

Depending on the boat, and it's sea going capabilities and location in Oxfordshire. Turn right at the end of the Gt Ouse. Down the coast. Up the Thames. Cost = fuel

I'm guessing it's coming to the Thames if it's 10ft wide and going to Oxfordshire.
Or a garden ornament perhaps ?

Hi Kris, Try these - Dad used them to move his boat from Oulton Broad to Littleport in 2017 and was very happy with their service - they are in Wisbech www.gmronline.co.uk/
