Thanks for the responses, but I'm still not seeing anything that, as an individual, is going to make any marked or significant difference.
It seems that we're all being encouraged to feel responsible or guilty, but that we really rely on businesses or governments to make the significant changes.

Due to climate change concerns, I no longer idle the truck engine when I am murdering prostitutes.

There are none so blind as those that will not see. No, I see the issues ... but I don't see anything significant I (we) can do to change the picture. Rog ETA I'm perhaps not explaining myself well. As an example ... my turning off lights when not using them (which I've always done for economy reasons) isn't going to measure against people flying round the world to attend summits

Unless you are particularly wealthy at the moment what most people can do is pretty small fry but cumulatively is supposed to make a difference. Use personal transport less. Walk more. Reduce food miles by buying from local sources and only buy stuff that is in season the UK/locally. Grow stuff at home if poss. Conserve energy. Eat less or no meat. Recycle more. Buy used not new. Re purpose stuff. No offence aimed at you personally, but the majority of that list can F off. TBH - I don't profess personally to adhere to all of the list, especially the one about eating meat! And I've used public transport a lot less since Jan 2020.

Rog It won't. But cumulatively it is said to have an effect. Obviously what is open to debate is 'how much' effect, cumulatively that even is.

Stabby is right, that is the root cause and it is the elephant in the room that nobody is talking about

It's all about money.

Of course that scary graph could look less scary by changing the scale on the axes and the start date. Whichever way you look at it, it took 300,000 years for the world's human population to reach one billion, then another 180 years for it to increase to seven billion.
