I need a burner for the spare boat as the burglar nicked the existing one and the diesel heater.
Spotted this one which oddly is just up the road from where I lived when I was physically 11 years old. I still am mentally 11 years old although my physics do not seem to agree.
Anyway it's like this:
Looks like former user has bodged it by just placing a round flange over it and fire cement. I dislike fire cement enormously and would baulk at using it for problem solving.
I'd rather get an adaptor for it really.
Headache worth avoiding or potentially interesting if done right is the question..
Slightly intriguing stove. Inside it looks great with ribbed fire bricks so I think it's an old one. The acorn nuts seem to indicate a rebuild at some stage as they look stainless or perhaps brass.
It might be a modern thing I'm not sure.
At least it doesn't have bumps on the hotplate lids like the Andyberg one had.
ETA I do like a top flue exit on a fire.
I was thinking perhaps a 8mm plate plasma cut then a flue spigot welded onto it might be the thing but it could interact negatively with the cast iron and cause a crack.
