It would be really good if it was feasible to sleep in the craft.
One would need to moor up somewhere out of the main channel for the night as you wouldn't want to get the negative effects of idiot speed boaters. That could actually be quite dangerous.
There are plenty of places on the River to tuck away so it's probably doable.
Might be really nice in good weather. Possibly not today as it's getting quite windy now.

So you just need a long stick and a large rag. Support stick over length of boat, drape rag over. Go to sleep. Wake up, poke stick in hole in bottom of boat, hang rag on stick and off you go. I think we might be onto something here...

In the summer a sleeping bag and a tarp is all you need.

Settled on a Minn Kota "turbo 36" like yours in fact just got a spare one as new for £50 which was a good deal. They are good units those early Minn Kota's and very very quiet. Back in the summer I bought a broken Traxxis 45 for £25 which fortunately had the MK electronic speed controller which is now built into the platform. Much nicer than the Chinese ones which always blow FETs.
I regret to announce that you are behind the times (not your fault) - I am now devoted to my recently acquired Epropulsion that is fitted with a removable lithium battery. Power is amazing - easily achieves the 5mph limit on the Thames with my little leccy boat (not so little in reality - 20ft long and 600kg.) Now moored outside my new shore home in the Abingdon Marina housing development, and undergoing a cabin transplant (replacing the pop-top with a forward wheelhouse) because I will no longer need to trail it on the M4 to reach my cruising ground. Bristol was lovely but now SWMBO has gone to a better place I no longer need the mansion in Bristol.
I used to rely on Chinese speed controllers but found that I needed one rated at 100A with a matching 100A thermal breaker to run an MK40 at 500W.

Oh yes. I forgot.
I have the Aquamot 1.1 and also a 1.6 for the dinghy. These come with the removeable lithium batteries. great items for larger craft.
I still prefer the old Minn Kota units for the floating electric beer drinking platform though. I cut the top off them and they arrr clamped on a hinge with a stauff clamp. That way it will lift over any underwater obstructions. TPOS steering nice and easy.
Did consider inboard but I like the true silence of the minn kotas.
Abingdon marina is cool.
My first long trip on the River started there. friends dad towed our Broom Scorpio up there slipped it in and we had a run back down to our riverside house at Hampton Wick.
Happy days.
