So just another random flippin comparison of no significance to the situation in hand. Little wonder the world is getting so fucked up. Your odd at times. Only you were comparing the two anyway. I've made no claim that they were the same requirement of entry. "He didn't meet the requirements of entry and they cancelled his visa" the BBC. Perhaps he should have sought better advice before traveling. ETA,I get it now, you couldn't counter my first paragraph so started nitpicking the second so you could have your daily argument. Yeh, I am odd, in that I read the crap you and a couple of others seem to generate on a daily basis. I need to stop being odd.

Then we don't have to see your petty arguing on semantics Or did Novax meet the entry requirements?

I used to love watching Wimbledon. But then Murray won the final and all the fun went out of it.

I see his daddy is telling the world it's like he is in prison. Ffs. He even compared his treatment to that of Jesus Christ.
I do think his appeal will be allowed but can't wait to see his father's reaction when armed officers put him on a plane if it isn't.

I’m sure he could decide to leave the country any time, if he wanted to. So he’s definitely not in prison. Though having entered the country illegally he’s lucky he isn’t! Daddy probably isn’t helping his case! If I were the ozzies I’d be all the more inclined to put him back on a plane. In an economy seat, the poor darling!

His appeal is on Monday morning, it will be interesting to see what evidence he finally produces.
Also that the Australian home affairs Minister confirms the actual facts.
“I know there is a lot of chatter about the visa. The visa, on my understanding, is not the issue, it is the entry requirement,” she said. “Border force has been very clear that he [Djokovic] was not able to meet the requirement to provide the evidence he needed for entry to Australia.”
So it all comes down to the fact he has had Covid and is relying on that for exemption but Australia disagree, perhaps he should have looked a bit closer into it before traveling,
“I can confirm people who contracted Covid-19 within the past six months and seek to enter Australia from overseas, and have not received two doses of a TGA-approved vaccine or TGA-recognised vaccine, are not considered fully vaccinated,” the federal health minister wrote to the Tennis Australia boss, Craig Tiley.

As Raphael Nadal said, he can choose whether or not to be vaccinated but has to live with the consequences of his choice.

Having been in an airport detention centre myself because of visa irregularities I can assure you that "hotel" is a bit of a euphemism and you cannot leave at any time.

In the sense of it no, he can't,but he can ask to be put on a plane home and they will organise it.

It’s just a cheap hotel that’s been repurposed. It’s not within the airport. He can leave at any time in terms of boarding a flight out of the country. He can’t just leave and go wandering the streets, of course.
