I am at a friends garage in Scotland for a weeks holiday [working type] and todays task was converting a genny to LPG. The kit came with essential bits missing but as Dave does LPG conversions we bodged sorted something out, the genny after conversion ran well given no instructions were supplied with the kit and ran well under load. For anybody running a genny for power/battery charging it would make sense to convert to LPG as long as you can get bottles at a decent price that is

Thats the rub this is in a van so LPG is 50 odd pence a litre. By the bottle its whatever the bottle costs per litre [1 KG = 2 litres so it might not work out cheaper than petrol knowing Calor!!!

I converted a Honda 2000 to gas. Compared to petrol, there was no saving if I am honest. I kept a log on it at the time. Think I posted the results on cwdf. The only advantage I feel, was that of health and safety (being on the boat). The conversion itself is simple, though you have to set the regulator correctly.
Anyway, it got nicked, and I replaced it with a kipor 3000. The kipor is much more economical than the Honda was, and just as quiet, owing to it not revving so hard.

Yes that is the issue, for james with his underslung tank and running it from 8 till 2 everyday it cuts his costs in half
