I doubt @a remembers Radio Spares they became RS in 1971 I remember going to Radio Spares in I think Clerkenwell when I was young. Tottenham Court Road was a better place for bits

don't believe so any more ..... they have become a much more "standard" on-line retailer ...... still a bit pricey but alwaysΒ prompt.
certainly I haven't come across it for some time .... but maybe I just spend too much once I start looking at stuff on there I remember when they were called Radio Spares. And I was like "times change" isn't it. ETA at least some people change with the times. Which reminds me. Paint the boats. ? Nah And then RS Components

I'm not old enough to remember that name personally but was influenced in earlier life to recognise RS as Radio Spares by a person who I should have taken a lot more notice of when he offered to get me into employment. He taught me how to use a slide rule and he was also a non executive director of Perkins. Another missed trick for me there. I suppose it all works itself out in the end but I do wonder sometimes at all these missed opportunities.

Tottenham Court Road was a better place for bits My money is on him getting confused with Radio Shack (which became Tandy before it closed down) US model for Maplins Back in 1983 I had a Tandy TRS-80 Model 100 it was my introduction to e-mail using Telecom Gold I think my dauughter still has it somewhere along with much of my stuff.

I only remember Tandy.
Cleverly bought out by carphone whorehouse so they had good locations of the high streets.
