It has come to that time of life where one must consider washing things a bit more often. Upwards rather than downwards trajectory sought. On account of preferring small spaces I stumbled across this incredibly wonderful washing machine. It is real. LG electronics "twinwash" 2kg fully automatic washing machine Unfortunately the word "twin" indicates it needs a full size washing machine on top of it to stop it walking around. I was wondering about strapping it down with durable ratchet straps to securing eye bolts. The webshite name give off the impression of something one would avoid like the plague. It does have its own plumbing and programming so I think it is potentially independent. The other option is to consider washing clothes in a fishwasher or perhaps just keep buying new clothes. It is an interesting situation.

You could visit a laundrette once in a while.

This has been considered as an option however they are daylight robbers. That must be a London thing, the nearest to me is Β£9-10 for a big bag washed and dried.

That is daylight robbery for just cleaning some clothes in a machine someone might have put dog beds in just before you used it.

Annoyingly I gave away that Burco wash boiler as did not have 2.5kw for the boil function. Could do with it now as one of the smaller boats is going to have mains electric at some stage but not enough room for a normal washing machine. I found these tiny tumble dryers which look rather cool. www.appliancesdirect.co.uk/p/eiqmtd2b/electriq-eiqmtd2b-freestanding-vented-tumble-dryerI like tumble driers. Perhaps the best option is just to do hand washing then tumble drier. That could work. I've got a nice glass washboard.

Well I found out on an RV forum that you can use these standalone. It has a Microswitch which is pressed by the main washing machine going on top of it. This is linked to the power not a data transfer cable.
That info came from an LG workshop man.
As it happens there is a storage area on Dulcinea which is exactly the right size for that washing machine and is currently full of random junk.
I'm now very tempted ! It's Β£270 shipped from Spain via a reasonably authentic looking Danish owned website.
It is a proper little auto washing machine. The real thing.
All of the "bin washing machines" you get in caravans are not automatic in that you need to fill for each cycle.
Does make a difference in useability.
The thing weighs 40kg. I would be able to fix it down with a ratchet strap as well quite easily as long as the casing is rigid enough.

My view from a slightly distant perspective is that running a washing machine every day would be desirable followed by drying of the clothes.
also hanging laundry outside a boat makes one look too much like a pikey and one has standards to uphold in this regard.
