On the positive side, there are now slightly fewer violent lunatics that reside on a boat.

What the fuck is he doing on bail though? He's not on bail. From the article you published a link to. βWisniewski, of Wharf Road, Birmingham, is set to return to Reading Crown Court on Wednesday where he is expected to be sentenced to mandatory life in jail. High Court judge Mr Justice Turner will set a tariff for when parole can be considered.β Which kind of suggests he was on bail.

It seems he had committed a double murder of a Polish couple several years ago but had absconded from prison and come to the UK on fake papers with a false name. The police matched up his fingerprints and uncovered his true identity.

It's quite a clever idea to let horribly nasty killers disappear from one's country "accidentally". Must save a fair bit of state money on prison fees.
I seem to recall a similar grim story down near Brentford a few years ago where a teenage girl was found in the River Brent. Turned out the bloke responsible had been convicted of murder in his own country but for some reason this was not flagged as a problem.
Hmm.
