I have a bronze (I think) windlass that is stamped BCN.
It's at the boat and I'm not until new year.
It has a single aperture, which is the smaller one of the double type (if that makes sense).
Feels lovely to use on your hand.

"Has anyone got any interesting X-rated movies?" "Has anyone got any interesting Yarns from the Cut?" "Has anyone here ever learned to play the Zylophone?"

I think I've got five windlasses, long throw, short throw, single socket, double socket, plain, painted. I'm not sure any of them could be described as "interesting" though?

(Apologies to gazza - I hope you are sitting down in a relaxed environment as this could get rather heavy ! ) Have you ever thought of selling any next time tor boat around Uxb Darren Have you anything particular in mind? For some reason I seem to think you sold some unusually nice old windlasses on eBay a while ago. I may be confused about this as I think the seller had a converted Gucci boat above Uxbridge Lock. I also think you may have a converted Gucci boat in that area. Apologies if I have got this totally wrong! Most of my old windlasses are large socket jobbies which don't fit much these days. More of a museum thing really. I have some more modern cast iron small socket ones which still fit most of the spindles as well.
