About to move onto our boat permanently and will have to use some sort of mail collection. Which mail collection service would you recommend (or not) and why? Thanks

I get all of mine sent to the local village Post Office, or when I'm out cruising to a local Post Office using the Poste Restante service. You can't use it for official stuff, DVLA, HMRC etc, it helps to have a friend or relation who will receive this stuff for you.

I've heard of something called "boat mail".
Not sure how this works.
I suppose if one had residential address one could let other people use it as a postal address for a small fee and just sort any mail into boxes for them to collect at regular intervals.
It's an interesting little business model. I don't know if you would be able to do this from a normal address or if it would have to be a business address.
I suppose if you put "care of" or "agent" on the address it might be okay?
One wonders what happens if you get a rogue of some sort and the rozzers start sniffing around. Could get quite hairy.

My mate, a permanent liveaboard, is registered to vote here, has some stuff, bank, hmrc sent here. I alert him, he asks me to open it, or not, and I send him a pic of it if he needs it. His premium bond winnings come here, more often than ours, Grrrr! I suspect there is a winning allowance per household and he gets it.

Thanks. Our mooring is not residential but does have an address but really only for deliveries. Sad as it sounds neither of us have any family who we could ask to post things on. There are a couple of "boat" mail services I have been looking at but I just wondered what other boaters experience was🥴
