This topic can include narrow boats and other inland trading vessels. UK built only. Anyone mentioning dutch barges will be shot at dawn.
I really like Humber keels but my mooring is limited to 14ft. If it were still just me I would go for a half converted Josher motor I think.

I did briefly own a motorised horse drawn Bantock barge which was a stunning boat but very nackered and I didn't want to be the one to put a steel top on it..
Nice boat though !!

Not very 'canal' or 'narrow' and sadly no longer with us but it was a fantastic sight during its long life on the River Cam. MV Viscountess Bury

I do like Humber keels too, and most of all the "Sheffield size" ones.
Also the Leeds & Liverpool shortboats are high on the list of my favorite canal boats.

I like sheffield size boats and to be honest any of the large boats that wander on our waterways up North

June is stunning not sure I would be able to stand up in it as I am 6'2.5". If I were rather shorter I would probably own Ironclad by now as she was for sale recently (72x14 L&L long boat) but she has very limited headroom and raising the cabin would spoil it. What it really needed was a steel cabin like Farnworth which is the shape of the old clothed up hold. That would be lovely but a massive job!! I'm restricted because of my height - this rules out a lot of lovely old boats.

I went to have a look at this old girl a while ago - nice historic boat from down south. But unpowered and probably not feasible to motorise it. Unfortunately the steel lid which has been added (pretty good job) reduces headroom to about 5' after flooring. Nice vibe to the boat though

I think they are asking silly money at the moment though.

I was told ironclad had sold. With a transferable marina mooring in 'acne asking price was £130k !!
Parbold - not sure where that is but there are some silly priced Humber Keels around canary wharf area.
I went on the old Humber Lighter Bustard Thorpe the other day - nice old girl but she's about 90x17ft or something so really needs a big mooring. Also I like a boat I am 100% confident single handing in all conditions so that would be too big anyway.
