Yes also the bike is so cheap it seems naff putting something expensive on it as it will just get stolen.
Obviously it will probably get stolen even if it is worth -£50 as they nick everything but at least if it looks like some bodged up deathtrap which is about the explode then perhaps it has a chance.
I will have to put some of my Do Not Use stickers on it.
And Danger of Death.

There’s a reason I don’t buy decent bikes.

Finally I have decided to try out doing an ebike. I wanted something small and easy to take on trains so have opted for an Ammaco Zigzag. A hand made bike apparently which is rather pleasant. Actually quite a nice little bike found one for £30+£10 petrol to get there and back. It's not a folding bike so be prepared for hassle taking it on trains and the tube. You will get away with it at times but other times I'm sure you will be turned away.

. Was hoping it would go on out of rush hour regional trains but maybe not ?
Edit to correct error.
Not intending to take it on the tube as I would be replacing that journey with riding the bike.

I wonder if having a folding frame is specifically what is required. The Ammaco Zigzag bike has folding handlebars (not telescopic) and also folding pedals.

Try it out on an InterCity train! Enjoy the discussion with a jobsworth.

Got the bike and it's like new. Looks like nobody ever rode it. I did have a brief go on it and it's okay. Will take a while to get used to it.
Very good quality bit of gear. There is a place for a friction drive motor down the bottom of the rear mudguard as it has a drum brake.
Needs to be done sympathetically as it's actually a mint example of this rather odd contraption. Perhaps best to leave as it is.

If you want an E bike that you can take on a train without hassle get a pre built 20” folder…… The Ego 36 I’ve got is ok, needed a few tweaks and setting up properly - the Chinese can’t adjust cup and cone wheel bearings to save their lives. Yes I just realised I am now the proud owner of a new(other) Ammacco Jigzag bicycle.
Didn't twig it until I had a chat with the seller. When I mentioned the folding bit he did seem to agree that the folding handlebars could mean it is a folding bike...
Point being that a new one of these comes up on the flea bay site from a while ago so I think he bought it and found out via the "forum idiot jobsworth" mentioned by @dj that it was not a folding bike and therefore no use for him as he was a London commuter from a satellite town.
It's a new bike and it will be ridden but will not be modified.
It'll be worth a mint next century.
