www.ebay.co.uk/itm/184692219522Basically it's a digital DC ammeter with a hall effect contactless sensor and a high current alarm setting. What I want to do is have an audible warning if the amps go up on the Minn Kota trolling motor on the floating electric beer drinking platform. Occasionally due to prop fouling I get overheated wiring connections but it is not that obvious until one of the connections gets hot. Obviously a fuse or breaker could do this but I quite like the idea of a settable alarm and a digital display for DC current. Looks like the right thing but not sure. Max amps on the motor in normal use around 30a at 14v.

As I read it you will need some kind of siren to go with that unit, also says 25amps so could be a little low for your use.π±

Yes it's slightly unclear as it says it reads up to 50amps but the sensor does 25amps.
A little buzzer would be needed or maybe I could just wire it to interrupt the main supply using a solenoid.
25A is okay to be fair. Most of the gliding around is done at around 15A.

You could tie a parrot by its feet to the bit that gets hot. Also it could be taught to say something rude in the event, but I concede that bird shit might become an issue.

I was just informed by the 4G camera that some ducks have alighted on the craft and defacated on it. I don't mind bird shit as long as it's not on the seat. This is forgiveable and makes a nice alternative to the slipper launch brigade who have a little bunch of flowers in a ceramic pot in that location out of tradition.

Interesting RC plane motor outboard on there.
That going to be quite loud.
Although they are quite old and brushed motors the Minn Kota trolling motors are actually very quiet. You can't actually hear them at all.
Just been out in the febdp for a couple of hours and tomorrow looks like a marathon approximately 8 hours to cover the territory.
It's a terrible thing to have to do but worse things happen at sea.
The 8 hours will probably include one short break perhaps for luncheon.

Whomever did this started off well with the baseplate everything is attached to but it's all downhill from there...
