Some more thoughts...
At the moment I am for exiting Europe. Sometime in the future when we can trust those running the world, I'd even be for a one world order, but seeing as our own little country is run by too many individuals with greedy intentions, I don't think we are ready for it yet.

I think Britain's population should be culled - 20% of 'undesirables' to be chucked out, and then nuclear missiles to be set all round the coastline at 50 mile intervals pointed outwards. Britain has all the minerals and know-how and fields for agriculture to keep it independent. But then the Americans might snip the Internet and we'd be left in the dark. Also, Americans to be charged 14 US Dollars for entry (as that's what we have to pay to visit the USA with the ESTA-waiver). And stupid people would not be allowed to vote.

Haha! Yes! No? Maybe? Perhaps!
I do think one good way to run the show is to have a kind and wise dictator. 'Democracy' is a very-much overrated word. Democracy. Do we really want all the idiots to be allowed to vote? The USA is a great advocate of 'Democracy' and look at what a state that country is in!
It's not easy to find the best solution. As it is, as usual, Nature takes the lead. We are mostly where we are at this point in the Earth's history due to Human Greed. The canals were built for Profit - not as quaint living quarters for wealthy Londoners.
Show me a country where they have 'Democracy' and I'll show you one where 75% of the voting slips have ended up in some rubbish bin.
What would be the ideal way to run a country? Yes, I think I would like to try being in charge. I would try to make things perfect - and I would. But then someone would just come and stab me in the back, or piss on me for some reason. Ungrateful lot.
My old shop steward said to me once: "I'm a Socialist - but when it comes to my OWN money I'm a Capitalist!"
The World revolves around Human Nature - the foxes and minks who get gassed and then have their skins ripped off them for fur coats know this. Sometimes things do work out nicely, as some people do have good intentions and are willing to pump their own time and effort into the system. Delta is one, for instance, creating this little Empire. Some Socialist ideals have come to fruition and benefit many, and some appreciate this.
I'm the kind of person who likes to see things neat & tidy and well run & well maintained, but I'm now old and wise enough to know that you can't control everyone (and why should we?) - the mess gets sorted out by Nature 'herself' in one way or another, death & decay being the end of the line for those who don't toe Nature's strict regime (if you don't eat you die, that sort of thing). This reminds me of the scene in the Bruce Almighty movie where Jim Carrey (as God) tries to keep everyone happy by making them ALL Lottery winners - they all do indeed win the Lottery but the sum has to be shared amongst them so instead of all being millionaires they just get just a few cents each and are mightily angry and dejected that God has deceived them and hates them - quite opposite to what Jim had intended.
I shall ponder this whilst I'm in sauna, which is now ready, with my bottle of beer. No, bollocks to that - I shall think of our upcoming holiday instead!

If you do decide to run the world can I be your spin doctor?

Huh! You think being ruled from a one-horse bus town in Finland by a red-haired joker will be better than we have now? Perhaps.

"I agree with a lot of that NF. If you do decide to run the world can I be your spin doctor?" I wouldn't need a spin doctor - I'd just show my finger to the grumpy ones and say: "Spin on THIS!"

How did Corbyn get into this? I was of course referring to our Foxy friend in Finland, who drives buses through the forests.

And I've just realised the initials for my new name look 'iffy' - NF! Not associated with that lot, by the way! Guess I'm stuck with it now

Yet another thread being derailed by the same people.

Yet another thread being derailed by the same people. If a thread can be so easily and quickly derailed, then it had already run its course. If people thought it still had somewhere to go then that someone could post something relevant to bring it back on course again Attachment Deleted

"Yet another thread being derailed by the same people."
It is possible to look sideways for a few seconds, and then look straight ahead to keep going in the same general forwards direction. We surely can remember what this thread is about, but as someone has pointed out, discussions can veer off at tangents. Do we have to go down the straight & narrow like horses with blinkers to the sides of our eyes?
Well, my omelette is ready. I shall be interested to read on Sunday about the outcome of the London demonstration, and as I said, photos would be nice. A pleasant weekend to all!
