When I first bought my boat to live on (10 years ago) I was adamant that I wouldn't have anything on the roof.
Now 10 years later I have 2 centre lines...

I confess that I shot a robin with my BSA meteor 177 air rifle from about 6 inches away in 1985 when I was 11.
It was such a friendly bird I had to destroy it on sight.
It is good to get these things off one's chest. Again.

I confess for the past two days I have been to Holland and it was good.
PS, I also confess an average cloggy thinks anyone who voted for Brexit is a prize wooden head

Oh, and I also confess we are not being humped for fuel as much as you thought - on the highway between Amsterdam Schiphol airport and the city of Delft diesel was €2.35 per litre….

I was given the rifle by the husband of one of my much older cousins. She later hanged herself aged 49 which was not ideal. The bloke was an awful scumbag fraudster. He actually had a really good collection of shotguns but when he pointed a blunderbuss at his own daughter and told her to get away from the gun room I worked out he was a bad person. Good Purdeys in that room. Money laundering is a wonderful thing.

Surely one only has something to confess if one isn’t perfect. I have nothing to confess.
Well, apart from a few murders I suppose. Do they count?

I confess to preferring Amorik Bretagne whisky, even more than my collection of 16 year old Bushmills single malt whiskey (and to having realised late in life that the flavour of whisky/whiskey is largely due to the sherry casks in which it is matured).
.............. and to loving Marmite and hating all cats to the extent that I could happily shoot them with my .22 air rifle.
I once shot a seagull that was perched on a chimney pot making a racket that was very loud even in the room below. I aimed and fired hoping to scare it off - instead I got it in the neck and was amazed to see it open its wings to fly off before it tumbled off its perch and fell to the ground, spraying the white gable with blood from a major artery as it descended. The worst bit was going up on a ladder trying to wash off the blood.

I shot a starling with my airgun, using a 1inch woodscrew cos I had no pellets. It was sitting on next doors chimney pot.
My air rifle had a far cooler provenance. My mates and I, aged 11, found it in a puddle, no stock, no trigger. Initially we cocked it using the floor, a screwdriver shoved in to work the trigger. Found the trigger when the puddle dried out. I gained possession aged 15 and carved a hardwood stock in Woodwork.
