Admittedly this will be of interest to a limited number of admin members.
Goodness knows how many times I have driven over and sailed under that bridge.

It is my favourite bridge on the NE waterways SAM_3379 by mudlarker, on Flickr Been under it and over it many times now. When I was waiting for the George Dyson coming down the river, the bridge keeper saw me hanging about and we got chatting. He invited me to stand in the control point with him in the centre when he opened it for the barge. If anybody is going through Cawood by road, the Old Postoffice (now a bakers/cafe/delicatessen) is well worth a visit only 100 yards from the brige the pies are magnificent !!!

Happy bday bridge. Seen that on one of Robbie Cummings videos i think, does the river lead to york from there? Yes. And ultimately nearly to Ripon. Or is it βfromβ, being upstream to York and Ripon.

Done 2 passages, once to York, once to Ripon. Great fun coming back down, almost like shooting the rapids in a Narrowboat.
