I thought they were cold moulded mahogany but it looks to be planked?
Could be double diagonal maybe

Carvel mahogany on oak apparently.

Serious Q, What type of Mahogany was used. I see there is few types. Not sure but Honduras mahogany is a type I have heard of used for this sort of boat. Google might find something.

That is a nice boat! You need to get an awl and poke the wood all over to make sure it's not rotten. If the wood is still good, it looks like a really good buy.

I have found i like to work with real wood, may well gte a small wooden project next then go from there.

Looks to be 20-25 grands worth.......or more maybe after the "Faffing" around is done! I wonder how much needs to be put into it?

A whole lot is going to depend on the condition of the fastenings as well as the planking and ribs. If the hull is structurally sound as regards fixings and frames the keel and stem/stern etc, sheathing might be an option (but not a cheap one) Something on the line of West system. It's like all these jobs .... it all depends on what is totally past it and what is salvageable. As I've said many times .... I love old wooden boats ..... but I prefer other people to own them and let me crew
