I ran over 7 children outside a school. 4 died the others have life changing injuries. Take solace that no kittens were harmed!👍
It was the kittens I was aiming for !

oh yea I’d forgotten about that. Is it 100% about liscence? Lock keeper jobs require a driving license as the operator needs to travel between several locks. I don't think they allow one to have a little launch for this purpose although it would be much better given that one could inspect the reach closely on way between locks.
I think lock keepers should have travelling up and down their reach daily in a boat as a requirement for the job.
I was asking if it’s certain about your liscence. I understand why lock keepers need one. It’s a shame I think you’d be a good lock keeper and if you do need to work then at least you’d enjoy it.

(ETA joke.)
Several speeding tickets on the A40 where it goes from 40mph down to 30mph because the elevated section is about to collapse.
Totting up ban coming.
Might be possible to grovel your way out of a ban, although most employers have limits as to how many points you can have.

I've got 9 points. I got another ticket they offered me a course (online so this could be rather tedious) then I got another ticket. Sent that one off yesterday.
I don't need to be driving. The only travel I do is in and out of London which is depressing so much better done on trains.

I could definitely get out of it, in fact quite easily due to family and health concerns but it is appropriate for me to stop driving and this is the only way it is going to happen.

5%? Thats ridiculous ! Quick check on the Lloyds website says they charge 1% for cash in or out. Business Current Account
"Cash Payments (in or out) The first £1500 per month - £1 per £100 Anything over £1500 per month - £0.90 per £100" I was just quoting a brewery that I used to buy from he said 5% and that it was better for him to use Sum-up. No bother from me I hate using cash. The brewery were either mistaken or very bad at business. I always try and use cash, have walked from various places this past couple of years because they refuse to take cash. As for cash disappearing anytime soon I’d doubt that. My lads business is in cash counting systems, very busy and sell to the majority of both big and small businesses.I can’t see the likes of Tesco etc spending millions on these systems if they see no future for cash. I’d suggest it would be a huge mistake for us all to have no choice but to use electronic payment systems.

The Hell Bin (LIDL) here has a load of auto checkouts something like 10:3 in favour of card only payment.
Its convenient. Also a good cost saving to not have so many staffed checkouts. Over time it seems likely that cash will be a tiny minority of transactions.
It is possible that Tesco are less efficient in business generally. This could partly explain the lower prices in the Hell Bin and the ALDI shops.
Cash is going to remain for a while but I do think it will be marginalised as smaller retailers are knocked out by the big boys, who themselves are more able to adapt to automation.

The contactless has certain helped Steve who collects fees at some of the moorings around Henley. He often finds people have paid by PayPal on their phones so no need to go and collect the daily mooring fee. There will be a lot of other small businesses who have benefited from the modern technology. That is not in doubt. It is useful but cash is important for some people. Steve is now a happy man because he can now collect his £10 from the people who cannot get off their boat and he can't get near enough to accept the cash. £10 for nothing really in some cases.

Well there is that! He's been doing the Copas land (Medmenham) for 33 yars would you believe?
It was actually the land owner who initiated it by putting a notice on a tree asking for a mooring warden.
Real buggers these private land owners.
ETA if you arrive at somewhere like that, which has very good signage, you can't really moan. There are other places to moor and at the end of the day it actually is privately owned land with a footpath (which does not communicate with the River) running across it.

The only travel I do is in and out of London which is depressing so much better done on trains. And saving the planet from 'Climate Change' and sea levels from rising. It's just that Deutsche Bahn is running 70% of the trains in the UK, so the Brits are funding Germany's next war. Ironic, isn't it?

Finns have been paying mostly by plastic card since the early 1990's. I like cash.. it makes it fun to go on holiday with all various coloured banknotes with different pictures on them, and a bag off different coins. The South African banknotes have 'The Big Five' on them (animals). Norwegian & Swedish banknotes are nice. It's taking the piss when Romanian gippoes begging in the high streets of the UK have card readers!

I haven't seen them with card readers but the pickpocketing thing is interesting. Quite a lot of shop owners seem surprised that I don't take the card out of the wallet. It works through an air gap. Not a long way but its very easy to pass a reader over someones back pocket in a crowded area.
Not sure how prevalent it is in reality but the principle of altering the permission basis of financial transactions is a seriously serious subject which needs great care.
Also muggings. Most muggers are probably male and most muggees female. If you are a bloke and you steal a woman's contactless card you can use it.
I certainly would not consider moving payment services onto the phone. That really is going too far. Card is "OK" but phone no way Jose (spanish pronunciation with an acute e at the end like "Hose-eh").
Over my dead body.
Popular option though.

no way Jose (spanish pronunciation with an acute e at the end like "Hose-eh"). There are two Spanish firemen in a fire engine. The first one is called Jose. What's the second one called?
