Major close down in the country for the funeral tomorrow.
We're moored out of town and out of the way and have no plans to view the event or be in anyway involved.
Anyone got any plans for the day ?

I'm within striking distance of Windsor and had been considering a long day out on the Podium tomorrow.
I don't know what the security protocol is going to be but it might make a nice boat day out.
It would be quite a long day but I do have a legal navigation lamp and some fusiasm (boating not the queen)..
ETA the boat was built in the boathouse beside Eton bridge so quite apt to get down there. I think I'll be going early in the morning. This time of year early mornings are delicious.

We'll be watching.
(I have no intention of justifying why though).

Jeff is keen to watch it, I’ll watch some of it but not the whole 9 hours. Plenty of DIY to be done, boat can’t be moved due to satellite TV reception.

I really liked the live stream of the lying in state. A lot of respect there. Watched it quite a lot with the girls yesterday. The 20 minute changing of the guards was impressive.
She was a good monarch. I don't agree with hereditary title bullshit but she was a good one. Very difficult for anyone following her to live up to that.
Times do change anyway.

Don't think I can watch it all,I'd be in pieces.Dad died Sept 93,Mum died Nov 93 & my only brother died May 94 after a number of cancer remissions.Since then,I've been totally emotional & have therefore sniffled my way through what's been on tv so far.Since my whole family died,I well up really easily & easily become a gibbering wreck.

Times do change anyway. Don't watch much TV myself but hooked by that - truly mesmeric... amazing synchronicity and discipline.

I sat in a crowded, darkened room in June 1953 to watch the Queens coronation
I'll be watching tomorrow at least parts of her funeral

I will watch some of it. There is not another country in the world that has the history like ours, and the genuine feelings that give rise to the faultless accompaniment of music and marching shine through all the show of respect for the late monarch. I can just remember the last king, but the blue shorts my mother made for the coronation with E and R embroidered on the legs are burned into my memory for life. i much preferred the siren suits that I wore in the cold winters.

As one of 'her citizens' I don't remember her ever coming round to ask if all was OK.
We're off to pick up our chainsaw which, allegedly, has been 'repaired'. We shall see.
The Witch wants us to be home by 1pm as that's when the funeral starts. I shall not be watching. So cringeworthy; there you have it, all at once - millions of morons who believed there was a 'pandemic' now blubbing for someone they've never met and who didn't give a shit about them. Princess Diana cry-a-thon all over again. Bet Harry & Megs flew in on a jet burning fossil fuel?
"Knock, knock!"
"Who's there?"
"Not Queen Elizabeth II!"

I'll try and watch but need some sleep first. After which there will be a disgusting email to our new CEO, as they only used our behaviors of being coop to show the world we are virtue signaling. Had they really wanted to show their colleagues they cared, they would have closed the warehouses too and not just the shops.
We are staying operational because it's a bank holiday and we're always work on a bank holiday. Funny that, I thought our stores opened on bank holidays too.
Rant over.
