I wonder when that came in. I have a 2018 Suzuki Ignis which gives no indication of being connected to the internet.
Obviously as I now have a speed awareness course booked and 18 points (!) due on my license I don't think I will be using it for much longer.
Which modern non electic cars are you referring to?
I'm sure there are some and I know that data is harvested but this must be a very recent trend.
Happily I am getting away from toad transport. Long overdue really.

Just a no would have sufficed. Anyway, I hope during your sales pitch for EVs that you told him they now cost as much to run as a real (petrol) car. As Alice would say, ‘under my wheels’ Hardly we are still charging for free and Tesco/VW/Podpoint rapids still 28 pence kwh so no problems in my world, i fully expect to pay under a £100 for the the 8k miles we do yearly As for the chap he gets free charging at work so it was an easy conversion for him 8,000 miles is 12,800 kilometres. Our car would eat 742 litres of 98-octane gasoline to drive that - and that would cost, at today's price, 1,633 Euros - that's £1,454. "i fully expect to pay under a £100 for the the 8k miles we do yearly" - I smell bullshit. Free electricity??!! The £1,454 I quote is just for the petrol ... there's all kinds of other conderations ... wear & tear ... tyres, moving mechanical parts, oils, greases, brake & clutch fluid, screenwash, new windshield wipers, shock absorbers. 8,000 miles/year isn't much - I'm used to regularly knocking up 25,000 miles/year (and that's just with a car). "As for the chap he gets free charging at work" - it's never 'free' - someone is paying for it. Mosquitoes get my blood 'for free'.

I thought you've been telling us you've spent many years repairing and servicing fossil-fuel-burning vehicles? You have been part of this and helped to destroy our grandchildrens' future. "Real climate change" - have you taken into consideration the Earth's axial tilt? Or the alternation of the magnetic poles? Or do you just swallow everything that's presented to you on the gogglebox, and from John's 'Fact Finders' site (UK Gov!). Perhaps you could join the Just Stop Oil and glue yourself to the M1? Or go round Sheffield smashing petrol pump meters. We saw glaciers in Norway. They looked a bit cold. Chuck another log on the fire! And what about all that methane escaping from the Nordstream gas pipe in the Baltic Sea - the one that the Americans (allegedly) sabotaged? The tilt is probably due to climate change so the chain has started , as for the Nordstream sabotage who knows? Guess you think continental drift is "due to climate change" ? You have been brainwashed. As you were with 'Covid'. Hope you've had your booster shots!

Evidence? Or you are as bad as the Fox. I ran a search "electric car costs as much to run as a petrol car" and nothing showed up. Apologies, I was incorrect. The article I read, from the RAC said nearly as much. 18p per mile as opposed to 19p for a petrol car. So I guess the pennies add up. Mind you il happily pay that penny for not being bored to death by having to drive an EV. I did find something re e motorbikes, similar scenario, it could end up as much, if you only charge up at the expensive really fast chargers. I'd suggest majority will charge at home and at work. Lots cheaper. Of course it's petrolheads looking to dis the alternative before they are forced to use them.

I think its the sound.
Yars ago (about 30) when I was a young free single rich tall dark handsome intelligent humorous scruffy and open minded politically correct non racist teenager I was a car fan an seriously considered recording engine sounds and doing a tape or CD.
Needless to say I did not do it and just one or two of the attributes remain.
It is terrible.

Have you remembered the names of the boaters you allege Tony sold his mooring to several times over? Or is it something you just made up? Also, as you seen keen to know how much Tony charged ricco, and have asked countless times, is there anything wrong with us asking you how much Tony charged you for the mooring he offered you? How did you manage to get your boat in, with all the other boats parked there?

BMWs Jags any modern car, mine is a 2017 and its linked to the internet for over the air updates and diagnostics its not a new thing

I rather enjoy driving our petrol-burning car with its manual gearbox.
It must be a bit boring 'driving' an all-electric vacuum cleaner, which is remotely controlled by 'the authorities'.
Let's hope you have enough Social Credit Points!

Drive what you wish, but don’t try the ‘I’m saving the planet argument’ or tell me it’s cheaper. Your not and it isn’t.

No often its installed by private companies for their employees on a no cost basis, its not because they are using the cars for work, its just a free perk. I did a couple of weeks in the garage and had the same perk

I did a couple of weeks in the garage and had the same perk I’m struggling with that. Though I admit I’ve had a heavy weekend. My lad gets free fuel, your guy gets free fuel.. difference is? Edit to add. Forget my comments, not worth arguing over. I was grumpy because the first thing I’ve seen in the news is the story about Drax and the tree burning. Just seems to me this environmental stuff is a piss take. But I accept you feel differently. Have a good week.
