There’s a boater near where I am at the moment who has been served a section 8. He’s been stationary for two years. No licence, no insurance and no safety cert. He’s bloody minded and despite lots of people telling him otherwise he believes crt won’t take his boat. Sound familiar? Lots of people have tried to help him, including. People offering him tows, ( the engine doesn’t work.) it’s actually really sad but what do you do in this situation? When someone believes they know best, but everybody else can see the slow motion car crash happening.

A slow motion car crash is certainly going to be more pleasant than a normal one.
You do need to avoid the fixation problem and related demonization.
Shall we discuss small solid fuel heating systems for boats instead?
Sell the ditch barge

"it’s actually really sad but what do you do in this situation?" -how about you buying a licence and insurance and BSS inspection for him? By the way, how much was Tony charging for the mooring he let you have? You haven't told us. Tony says you got it very cheaply. In which case you should be grateful to Tony, and apologise publicly for being so nasty to him afterwards.

You have started a number of threads recently which are focused on Tony. It could almost be described as the KrisTony show.
Be careful.
Obviously he ( TonyDunkley) does attract a certain amount of demonisation but sometimes one must step away from the obvious pit and avoid falling in it.

Well I suppose maybe not. The bots like it. I was just discussing this with the girls earlier. Can one get online chat bots which one can be blatantly offensive towards with suitable feedback or does it need real humans. Chat bots look interesting.
I think it could start to get repetitititive with chat bots but this is already happening with contributors who are "apparently" human lifeforms.
Its a funny situation.

I’m a chat bot just regurgitating what the spider bots tell me is of interest to the non members who view the forum. Of course all controlled by an algorithm.

Anyway must go and turn the wheels of industry and commerce, so they don’t fall off this rickety wagon that is the Uk.

If what has been stated with regard to this man's situation is true, accurate and complete, and his boat is moored on the Trent Navigation, . . the maximum penalty that can be lawfully imposed via action by C&RT is a fine - under Section 5(2) of the British Waterways Act 1971.
