very unusual ...... and yet doesn't appeal to me in the slightest It holds no attraction for me either, but the thread title is interesting or unusual boats. To me it looks like some ones expensive folly.

Certainly an interesting rag and stick boat yes. 47ft is quite large ! For some reason it looks smaller.

Yes it is quite large, but would make a good livaboard. Proven design, made professionally. Obviously this would all depend on if itβs a pear or not. What would worry me is whatβs happening under the teak decking.

Indeed. I remember another one we had with laid decks.
Good chance of a can of worms there I reckon.

Even if there is heavy rusting under the teak, it is still in the easiest bit of the boat to repaire/replace simply.
The rest of it looks to mostly require cosmetic work ...... If it goes for that kind of money, I reckon it's a fantastic buy.

If I was currently in the market for a sailboat, then I would be going and having a look. One things for sure the decking definitely needs sorting.

Plus of course reading the detail it says it is 6mm plate all around including the deck so probably not an issue. They do mention some of the wood is lifting and needs repairing but seems improbable that it would be holed. A bit of pitting isn't a problem at the end of the day.
I found the description of sailing in a gale quite exhausting so I think I might stick with the inland scene myself despite now having an blue water motor boat.

I donβt think you will ever need another boat.

Quite likely. It took me a long time to get it though considering it was built for me when I was 11 in 1985.
