Well I met NC a couple of years ago, I was working on an old Humber barge in Thorne when she was passing. I recognised the boat and shouted her over. NC and her bloke, slammed reverse on, breasted up, boarded my boat armed with cold beers. Had a good natter and off they went. I suppose you should never judge a forum name by there cover. Just saying 🍺

well there y'are now - my memory doesn't serve me well any more. advancing years an' all that. still doesn't explain why Phylis became Rachel. and I forgot how she spelled her name - silly old me. of course Rachel (from Suits) is an entirely different matter

blimey, there are some vindictive opinions of the dear lady formerly known as Phylis. anyone know why she changed her name? Possibly because of living in South Yorkshire ? Now then, I live in South Yorkshire. It may not be much but it's home. My house is a 15 min walk from Vic Waddington's yard at Swinton? I guess you know that yard. Did you know Vic at all? Just curious, because he was such an interesting but devisive character. Rog

I think you have underestimated the thickness of her skin, she'd love it here. Bring it on Are we talking about Naughty Calais (I thought I'd get a French connection in to keep some happy) or the one who likes to advertise her daughter abandoned her... which I find unsettling.

Naughtyfox. Naughtycal. Quite similar really.
I always got on quite well with NC on the banning site and would expect to be able to happily do beer with her/him (I think there are two people there)
Anyway talking about people like this is surely a bit rude?

Yep, you hit the target with the post code, we are just letting things totter along at the moment on what the outcome of something we had no say in pans out, being past working age we will possibly be OK but it's a bit of a wait & see. & all thanks for the welcome At least here the bullshit seems much thinner on the ground at the first glance & what there is seems good natured.

Welcome to the happier place, Alan. That childish opinionated cow wouldn't last two minutes over here so you're safe now I think you have underestimated the thickness of her skin, she'd love it here. Agreed.

I think you have underestimated the thickness of her skin, she'd love it here. If she were to come over here perhaps we could press her for that definitive guide to the operation of swing bridges which she appears to have forgotten. Can you provide a link to this please? It's a piece of Canal folklore I have been vaguely aware for years, but never tracked the actual thread down. Something about the Oxford? Please, please advise.
