"U.K. - Social Credit Score testing starts tomorrow. They will pay you to turn off your energy! First the carrot and then the stick
The virtuous are falling over themselves to sacrifice their way of life, to prove how ‘good’ they are. The rest of us will put the kettle on!"

Also the ban on real coal is very bad.
I fear it will extend to the lovely Union Lignite briquettes as they are not authorised for smoke less zones. I do want tonnes of it but have been advised that my storage areas in the city and on the country estate extend to the boundaries of my rather small boats.
The ash is SO much nicer than ovoid coal things.

Also the ban on real coal is very bad. Never mind real coal, I had to buy some briquette stuff today for the first time since last winter. I'm off for a lie down next to the fridge ...............

"Britain has world's SECOND biggest Covid outbreak currently - behind only Japan. Cases are highest in Japan, where nearly 100,000 people are testing positive per day, on average. It is followed by the UK (55,274), South Korea (53,998) and France (40,168) — which are all restriction-free despite logging higher rates. The figures, from Oxford University's Our World in Data platform, are solely reliant on testing levels, meaning the true rate is a mystery in every country. There is no better way of measuring the data, however." Nov 27th 2022 The UK logged 55,274 positive tests in the week to November 24, according to Our World in Data. This is up from 3,349 seven days earlier

Despite the caption, that photo doesn't show any groceries, only fresh produce. Surely, "grocery" encompasses everything sold by a grocer?
