Happy holidays to those that do them.
Covid has struck here in the wider idiot family, so plans are changing day by day - never mind.
Hope you all get to do what you want to do.

That covid thingy is maybe taking off again. Ross will be so happy. It's his fondest Christmas wish.

It'll be the flu, as it always was.
I'm going to be socially distant with my massive wrist bruise as my little family have rather wisely decamped to another country for a whale.
Long live christmas. Cliff Richard rocks.
Wine maybe but not sure about the mistletoe as its all died now. Other sorts of toes not on the menu.
Also probably red boards on the Thames coming so must take extra care on the Podium.

I don't do Christmas, I'm an atheist. The wider commercial world does so that means there's no work to do which in turn means a week or so just dossing around, which is fine.
But I have no tree, no tinsel, no mince pies and I'm provisionally expecting to have poached eggs on Marmite toast for Christmas dinner as the eggs and bread are short-dated and need using up.

I'll never set you up for a smutty joke again. The smell of stale baby gravy and raw cold pvc just doesn't compare.

I'm an atheist but recognise that the winter festive season has its roots in secular societies but was later adopted by the god-botherers and fearers who then limited the season to what they called Christmas. The festive season used to extend for two or more months in Northern Europe during a period when preserved foods (prepared during the harvesting season) were plentiful and there was little to do on the land during the short cold days other than feeding the livestock and milking the cows and goats before stuffing yourself full of beer and sweetmeats in front of a blazing log fire.
I rather fear that this year it might be a disappointment 'cos my daughter and her family are supposed to be flying in from New York today but I have yet to find out if their flight has been cancelled. Otherwise we are all booked to have Xmas dinner at the Beetle and Wedge on the banks of the Thames.
Poached eggs on Marmite toast sounds nice - when I was a lad Mum used to make poached egg on a bed of spinach on a (slightly soggy) piece of buttered Marmite toast. Yummee. Mince pies with custard, cream and a slab of very mature cheddar cheese is basic fare for at least 2 weeks around this time of year,

An excellent brunch for any day of the year but I must confess to being a fan of sprouts - and their lightly steamed tops coated in melted butter and freshly ground pepper....... Have a good day everyone, whatever you choose x
