Germany is in a difficult place... until recently massively reliant on Russian gas, everyone voting to decommission all the nuclear power stations (about two decades ago), nowhere near enough renewable energy sources (same as everyone else) and now the kids don't like coal, which Germany has shitloads of (Germany pioneered synthetic oil made from coal in WW2 through necessity). Also their winters are a tad more harsh than round these here parts. What a kettle of parsnips. Greta turned up for that one.
