So why didn't you stop them taking your boat? You've made seven other posts since asking this question. I've provided a full and truthful answer - several times - but you've chosen to neither acknoweldge nor reply. And you have neither acknowledged nor answered my questions- 1). Why didn't you leave the dog at home when you got the phone call to say that the enforcement team had arrived at your boat? 2) Why did you say that you were living in a caravan when you were in fact living in a house?

It seems I detect a new reticence in the default behaviour of our favourite contributor. While I can think of more than one possibility why this may be true, I would merely suggest that the theory be tested until proven to the contrary.

For lawyers I think it is brilliant that these people are real and not a joke.
They must have a few giggles while charging people £250 an hour to speak in tongues of nonsense bullshit with them.
Wight hassle are bottom feeders. They are heavily involved in representing private parking companies as debt collectors. They also oversaw POPLA the independent appeal service for the BPA. They lost that contract as they became a farce, churning out template appeal verdicts without apparently considering the actual grounds of appeal and ignoring any appeal points they are unable to dismiss. There was a famous case involving UKPC, they were found to be doctoring timestamps on photos of cars to make them appear to be overstaying, which they were banned from accessing the DVLA database. Even after this, this very case went in front of POPLA, a unnamed assessor ignored the evidence and found in UKPC favour. Scum.

Not quite true. Crt don’t bother if you don’t show a number or name on the boat and they can’t link it to any individual. It’s too much work for them. There’s quite a few boats like that around here. In fact I’m not sure why I bother paying a licence anymore, I’m just to honest I suppose. Tony got under garners skin too much and then all the nonsense with selby Micheal was the final straw. I wouldn’t be surprised if it was the last boat garner stole before he retired. I suspect CRT will recognise yiur boat straight away.

There is in fact a distant historic connection with these shysters to the C&RT, via its predecessors, the British Waterways Board, when BWB had been run down to the point of no return under the Evans regime. Wright Hassall were BWB's 'go to' lawyers under its then Head of (Il)Legal, a thoroughly nasty and dishonest piece of work called Nigel Johnson. After some successes in misdirecting the Courts into upholding BWB/Johnson's own DIY amendments to the Board's actual statutory powers, the genuine ones bestowed on it by Parliament, Johnson/BWB came to the conclusion that Wright Hassall weren't quite unscrupulous or dishonest enough and replaced them with Shoosmiths, . . who themselves, still not being quite unscrupulous or dishonest enough to satisfy the likes of C&RT Ltd CEO Richard Parry, were replaced with C&RT Ltd's very own Illegal & Connivance Services, headed up by Company Secretary Book Cooker-in-chief, Tom Deards.
