Me? Fool, performer, car mechanic, plumber, welder, teacher etc. But I don't need to worry about that any more, they pay me to do nowt but amuse myself. Only a few years to wait Grasshopper. You could collect shopping trolleys, in fact Marine Shopping Trolley Collection would match your skill set admirably. You forgot socialist slum lordπ Forget the slum, and I'm still awaiting the title, thanks.

There is talk on some social media sites looking at ways of organising a vote of no confidence in the CRT management. Hopefully this will get off the ground. I'd imagine the council and trustees will be lobbied at some point in order to get it up and running. Could get interesting.

Interestingly, I booked Ellis into Liverpool a couple of weeks ago for NEXT year... before this announcement was made - I'm going to see what happens and whether they honour bookings made BEFORE they implemented the charges... although to be honest, I don't mind paying for it - doing a guest change over (3/4 loads of washing and then tumble drying, the immersion on rather than engine for hot water etc) it's good value. Likewise with Llangollen - although that DOES need to increase from 6 quid a night as that has been too low for a while.
Kris does make a valid point about how Much (well LITTLE when you think of all the longer term closures through in season works, water losses and over running works) you can use - last year many of my booked trips with customers were curtailed due to no notice closures... ONE Of which actually involved being trapped IN a closed section that was apparently impassable - despite the fact we'd just done the whole thing (with a little help from boots on the ground), only to get LOCKED in at kidsgrove and not allowed OUT of the heartbreak hill 'as it's closed due to water shortage' - it took a whole load of making a fuss on twitter for them to get the man out of the van with the keys who'd been paid to sit in it and wait for 4 hours for someone to say "yes"... great use of my THIS years Β£2300 licence fee to have a business license ... and I have to work out how to run said business around their lack of being able to provide a stable platform on which to operate it.

Just having a review of the original topic here.
One wonders if the navigation authority supply the lifting gear need to moor on the towpath or if you have to get a contractor in.
It could be a handy opportunity to paint the hull. Much easier than painting it with the boat alongside the towpath.

What about sewage water and gas pipeage? You could stack one boat on top of another too. Aren't you glad I'm here, nothing like that has ever been built. I hereby name it a House.

Yars ago we had enormous houses in wonderful locations. Proper big ones.
I seem to prefer small boats for some reason.

One was a brick outhouse. Isn't that a variant of a proper Brick Shithouse? Did you have squares of newspaper on string. Was it built like a weightlifter?

SO - on Monday I got an invoice email from CRT for 70 quid for next years booking (made before they announced the charges)... I paid it and shrugged it off. Today I got this letter - fair do's ... when the refund is made, I'll make a contribution cause they've done the right thing.
