I think Armageddon being announced by text is a great idea. And if it doesn't happen, a curfew will work. Also alerts if a shop has got some food, etc. Jolly good show.

I hope he gets on with it. I don’t think you will have to wait too long.

Reckon it will take about another 12 months before the russkies really start to run low on conventional weapons.

Reckon it will take about another 12 months before the russkies really start to run low on conventional weapons. I suppose it depends on if china starts openly arming them. But if Ukraine start driving them back, Putin will increasingly become backed into a corner which is when he will become really dangerous.

Russia has made several statements to the effect that doctrine states nuclear weapons will only be used if the territory of Russia is under attack. But Putin maintains Ukrainian territory now under Russian control is Russian territory....so if the Ukrainians start liberating occupied land...a lot would seem to depend on a spring offensive by either side, if it occurs...right now it's a deadlock.

Public service by text message and you have to acknowledge it before using the device afterwards? What a joke.
Its basically just a way for someone to gather information about how responsive people are on their phones and how much they are using them.
Load of bollocks turn off phone or put it on shite mode for the day.
One wonders if this will include pushing messages through via IM services like whatscrap etc. Emails?
Maybe it is good but it looks too much like state interference.

I'm not sure that when you acknowledge it, anything is sent back or not.

Thanks for that.
I went to settings on my android phone and searched for emergency and yes it let me turn them off.
Good to know.
It will be interesting to see if this stops it happening. It was the high volume "even if phone is on silent" which bothered me as I generally keep phone on silent as don't like the noises it makes.
