Hi all, not long ago i got a load of Everbuild PinkGrip for stick short battens to the GRP shell, then fill the cavity with expanding foam for insulation, but i have just found that you can not use it with polystyrene/Styrofoam/expanded polyurethane. So i need a good, not to expensive adhesive, so that put out Sikalfex. Love the stuff but at £11 a tube, trying to keep cost back a bit, but dont get me wrong i dont want a bosge up job done. So any ideas folks. Wolly

Just had a look at the spec sheet for it, should do the job nicely, reckon you have earned a week away up norf on the boat for the help kida Good job i checked, dont know what made me check on the PinkGrip, would of melted ll he insulation so 12 tubes to do nothing with. Sure i will find use for it though. Good idea ( but for the cost ) also messy and harder work.

I think I've got a load of sealing to do at work, in fact I'm positive I have, how many do you need?......

Sikaflex ebt is good shit.
I have used PU18 sealant for several jobs and it seems very similar.
Its a bit cheaper than sika but possibly not quite the same specification.

Just had 4 tubes of PU18 delivered today - about £13 on eBay Sikaflex ebt is also available in Travis Perkins AFAIK. Not sure if B&Q, Wickes or Homebase do any of this proper PU stuff though.

I will get the expanding foam to fix the ply lining down so about 4-6 tubes will do if you can please Gazza. The foam setts faster aswell so will get the job done quicker, the glues take 48hrs and i can heat the boat to set the foam in a few hours.

There is already a parcel destined to be on it's way to Wayne, a few FOC tubes is neither here nor there - they are the best price too
