I've just had a read through the poll thread.
I can't entirely comprehend the arguments against a CA section by members, who as part of the argument, profess their intention never to visit.
I choose to no longer 'log on' there, so decline to take part, but have realised that the real irritation with that place as far as I am concerned, is this 'dog in a manger' attitude.
When you look at the poll figures, the individuals concerned cannot be said to be arguing from a position of strength either.
I suspect any CA section over there is doomed to failure, whilst those individuals are intent on proving it cannot work.

It was OK till carlt and geo started playing silly buggers, giving the naysayers an opportunity to justify a no vote.

They should be voting for a change of management. The CA thing is just a smoke screen to cover up the way some long term members were treated over there by Dan and his team of mods.

It's always the same with "democracies" let the people have a vote, to trick them into thinking they have some power. Then just continue the same as before.

True enough, and what also comes to light (in my eyes anyway), is the people who are-were banned, didn't actually cause as many issues as some of the twats that remain and continue to cause squabbles.

It doesn't have the same vibrancy as over here...previous moderation tactics/bans has probably for now anyway stifled free speech...without the security of feeling safe from moderation in views expressed it may never be anything other than stilted exchange of guarded opinion.

I think it was as much about personal agendas as stifling free speech. I suspect another reason Dan is considering a U turn on CA is because he sees a glimmer of hope and wants to allow pro EU rhetoric over there again.

What is interesting is the desperate need by some to hit the "report button" for the most trivial things, and the desperation of the mods to act on them with such urgency that their lives are disrupted.
Anyway at least WF seems to be trying to be courteous. Perhaps my rants on the subject had some impact.

Unfortunately they think they can control people the same way.

If I ever go back to CWDF my finger will be hovering over the report button awaiting inappropriate language from the mods. I made quite a few such reports including a few of Dan's posts. I can't imagine why I was subsequently banned!

I tend to agree I think she is a 'molly coddler' by nature, and will soon again be sending folks off to the norty step and slapping folks wrists

Perhaps removal of the report button is the only modification required.
The comments by some mod's over there indicate a belief that the site only runs due to their interventions.
I suggest the truth is it would run better without any mod's.
Of course some of the more combustible members would quickly explode, but it would settle down.
