Looks like Michael Moore's fears of a huge back lash and a protest vote for Trump were right. Despite his warning, people are going to have to live with their 'protest' choice for four years. Don't see why you call it a "protest vote" It was a vote for change ..... any change, by people who have seen their lives, families, jobs and hope degraded by years of the same old rhetoric ....... if you want to call it anything call it a "desperation vote" by people who see no possible future for themselves or their way of life with the status quo

I was reading the advertising for a concealed pistol which is the shape of a mobile phone. The main reason you need one, apparently, is cos the other guy's probably got one !!
Can't argue with that.
Has Trump got a concealed carry permit?

I think he was doing so because of all the reasons you go on to describe. A vote to shake up the establishment. Anyway, we'll all have to call it a result now, so the motivations perhaps are now secondary to where this takes them/us. Rog

As Delta Knows in both polls I said Trump would win, and I put £50 on with bet fred months ago, just like I did with Brexit. The world is changing and what people say in public is not what they do in private, clearly people want change and change is coming, like brexit it will take time but it will be worth it. Clearly people are fed up with politicians saying they know what is best for us and are voting to change that system. Another plus is that Tromp has said the UK will be at the front in trade negotiations with the USA so lets see shall we? Maybe we will be a lot better of with him who knows

US markets don't like this... This will be an entertaining day. They've realised the hundreds of thousands of dollars they've spent on Hilary's 'speeches' have gone to waste...

The working class in my view are fed up with people pissing down their backs whilst shouting it's raining. Let's bear in mind that it's probably the working class who have now found power in a vote, and are using it. If the actions we have experienced over the past year are what it takes to bring about change, then so be it.

It will be interesting to see what happens in the 2017 German federal election.

On the surface I agree, however being the conspiracist that I am, will it actually make any difference to a world run by greed? Or has it just succeeded in giving people a nice warm feeling that they have some say in what goes on at the top?

It did seem a bit naff for a geyser with over $3 billion of assets is talking about the "little man" . I'm sure you are right it won't change a thing in capitalism terms.

Looks like Michael Moore's fears of a huge back lash and a protest vote for Trump were right. Despite his warning, people are going to have to live with their 'protest' choice for four years. It has been suggested that the President has very little power, and that he is merely the public face of vested interests who run the country in actuality. I think we're going to see if that's true now. Rog With Republican majorities in both houses he must have a better chance of getting his policies through than Obama had surely? Whether those vested interests that you mention will affect/alter his previously stated policies only time will tell. Roger
