Exactly. The working class in my view are fed up with people pissing down their backs whilst shouting it's raining. Let's bear in mind that it's probably the working class who have now found power in a vote, and are using it. If the actions we have experienced over the past year are what it takes to bring about change, then so be it. On the surface I agree, however being the conspiracist that I am, will it actually make any difference to a world run by greed? Or has it just succeeded in giving people a nice warm feeling that they have some say in what goes on at the top? To be honest, I'm just happy that apathy (for a while at least) has gone onto the back burner.

As Delta Knows in both polls I said Trump would win, and I put £50 on wimportantlth bet fred months ago, just like I did with Brexit. The world is changing and what people say in public is not what they do in private, clearly people want change and change is coming, like brexit it will take time but it will be worth it. Clearly people are fed up with politicians saying they know what is best for us and are voting to change that system. Another plus is that Tromp has said the UK will be at the front in trade negotiations with the USA so lets see shall we? Maybe we will be a lot better of with him who knows I think you're right. As with Brexit, we're in unchartered territory now. And the world hasn't ended yet. More importantly, what odds did you get on Brexit, and on Trump? Pity you didn't have a double he he Rog

I understand that there was a fairly high turn out for this vote, but I've not seen any final figures yet. I think you're bang on that the working classes have discovered the power of their vote, and it shakes the tree a lot more than apathy with the system. We do indeed live in interesting times......we'll have to wait and see if it's a curse Rog

The thing is, the shed is rotted, and far too many career politicians were trying to fix it with a hammer and a few nails, when it really needed smashing up with a sledge, and rebuilding. At least that's what I feel people are thinking.

The 'fear' I believe now being expressed (apart from some personal loathing of Trump who can be pretty dispicable on a personal level) is more about what will be built to replace the shed. The future could be very bright, or not, but it is definitely unknown now. Rog

Let's not forget it's the disaffected UK voter that demonstrated that it is possible to "stick it to the man" as they say. Perhaps in no small way we are partly responsible for Trump winning.
With Trumps negative attitude to trade deals, the remainers here who have been saying the UK would sink by going it alone outside of EU trade deals would be wise to reassess the situation. It seems to me that the collectively blundering Europe gets up the USA's nose. Could be the best result for the UK in the long term?

Is it? just go with the opposite of what opinion polls and the bookies are saying and you will be correct. Hell I even called this one correctly and actuall did say on CWDF months before Brexit that the remainers needed to be less cock sure about the outcome than lots were being.

But Martin you have to put money on it. I wanted Brexit to happen, this result did bother me as I thought neither suitable for the job, although I disliked Clinton more, even though I like Bill her husband. As it happens Trump has said we will be at the front of line for trade deals and this result will be making sooooooo many MPs sick at what they had planned to do, so its a win win deal for me.
