is the stoppage on the mainline or is it the Leigh branch? Don't worry, its not on your route. You would turn right at Waters Meeting to head for Castlefield, the stoppage is the other way.

Bell ringing practice Middlewich Tuesday evenings. Pop in, they won't mind. It'll be Bugsworth - no parking spots up the Whaley Bridge arm, chock-a-block with liveaboard gits. Pub (Navigation) at Bugsworth not bad, and Ring O'Bells pub at the Marple junction looked inviting (I went inside). Best scenery parking spot around Furness Vale is literally a stone's throw from the swing bridge just to the north of Furness Vale marina. You may meet the Thunderboater with 180 notches to his stick on that kind of route Hey Foxy that was back in the summer. A little more water has flowed under the bridge since then.

I do vaguely. OK, officially 181+ We shall be going through Middlewich again next June, turning left for the Bridgewater and a sermon from Sonny-the-Menace I expect. I should tell him his employers avoid paying tax, are traitors, and should be hung (that would be the Peel Group, everyone). I heard/read that Sonny had been put on the norty step and sent on a customer interface enhancement training day, due to the number of complaints. Time will tell.

Right so getting last minute plans together.
We already have a pump out card from our last trip after our kids decided to fill up the toilet so they could pump it out. but I'm having serious issues finding a crt pump out station.
Nicholson says there is a combined sanitary station at bugsworth but dissent explain what it means.
I see there is one at whaley bridge but can't see how to moor for it.
New Islington marina has one big I see reports of between £2 and £8 for a token.
Is there any I have missed.
Not sure if I've mentioned the route we've decided on. But middlewich Castleford Stalybridge Bugsworth Toby carvery, down through the tunnel on the Trent and Mersey.
And obviously lots of places inbetween. Walton hall and kids zoo Mosi Portland museum Bugsworth Sweet factory Walk to cracken edge Walk to mow cop
Cheers.

Portland Basin - up the hill towards Ashton-under-Lyne, Hill Street cafe next to 'The Trike Guy' - look it up on Google Street View. I recommend this cafe for an English Breakfast. Much better than the cafe at Portland Basin.

When we were at Whaley Bridge last July/Aug all there was was the bins - overflowing as usual, thank you CRT. The elsan point was 'out of order'. Going past Furness Vale, do call into T W Marine if there's anything you need, rarely you'll find a nicer and knowledgeable couple of blokes, and Jim who helps them out, also knows his stuff. Tescos at Whaley Bridge. The Soldier Dick pub at Furness Vale is not bad, but the fish-&-chips shop mentioned in the Pearson's guide is no longer. You won't find anywhere to park down the Whaley Bridge arm - choc-a-bloc full with permanent liveaboard gits. Thanks We're aiming for a night at bugsworth over Easter. I just hope there's no events on.

For pumpouts the only CRT one on the Ashton/Peak Forest/Macclesfield is at Bosley Lock 1. There are a number at the marina's etc on the route. New Mills Marina, Baileys Trading Post at Poynton, Lyme View Marina at Adlington and Heritage Marina at Scholar Green, all around £15. Baileys is recommended as they also do a good rinse out and its not timed.
