This silly crap with CRT not issuing a licence for his boat is ridiculous. A complete cock up (seemingly one of many over the past few weeks).
It's hard to discuss it properly on the other channel, with the usual pillocks spitting their crumbs all over the place.
Can people not see the danger signs of this stupid decision?

I haven't had time recently to rummage through Canalworld, would you care to sum this case up in a nutshell for us?

It always amazes me how some will blindly support CRT in everything they do. I'm interested in seeing the outcome of this as CRT seem to be acting as if they are above the law (nothing unusual there).

Well I remember him starting the thread Enforcement in Milton Keynes as you do too under onion bargee and judging by the way that went I can imagine he has found few friends on the other channel. With this in mind I checked this morning and I wasn't wrong. I see the usual suspects spouting the usual rubbish the best one was asking for a separate Legal Section to be added to the Forum as he didn't want to read it,ignoring the fact that he could of course as things stand just now simply not bother clicking on the subject and do us all a favour. I think Onion Bargee has Gamed the system to a certain degree previously and this has put him on the radar, certainly on his previous license ,I am not sure about his motives in checking the validity of the now rescinded license over the phone, that struck me as strange and stupid. None of this of course matters because as you clearly point out we are entering dangerous waters when the CRT feel they can ignore, bend, break and wilfully misinterpret the Law.Can I point out that this is not an Anti CRT rant but an accurate description of what is occuring on our waterways today. It is not enough to simply say its Onionbargee, he has history,he deserves it.the Law is the Law it was here long before CRT came into Existence and it is what defines us as Human Beings. If that Law requires changing then CRT know how to do that and one thing is for certain,if the present behaviour of CRT regarding the Law is allowed to go unchecked it will end badly for all of us as boaters.

I've had dealings with Peter palmer (many times), and in my opinion he does tend to shout "over" people. As far as I am concerned, he is unsuiatable for the position he holds. Onion bargees history really has no bearing on what Peter Palmer is attempting to achieve here. The legislation is clear. The judge will have been made aware of the situation before he-she issued the order, and CRT are now merely attempting to stretch the legal terms of that order. It's a bloody joke, but not a comical one.

I only mention the historical facts as it clearly has but shouldn't have a bearing on his situation. The quicker him,Nigel and Tony get into a legal arena the better.

You are right about previous situations and disputes not having a bearing on a situation but unfortunately they can. I don't know onionbargee apart from his posts but his posts suggest he has been "gaming" the system and judging from his loss of temper on the boards he quite possibly has introduced a personal element into the situation that has aggravated it. You are right that a professional should not have their judgement effected......but lets be honest....we all know it can be.

What do you think John regarding the facts of the issue rather than the people involved? I get the feeling CRT are trying it on here.

I do think that on the face of it someone has made a bad decision .....I just wish we knew the reason for the cancelation. It is impossible to judge without that information

Regards kris Oh yea reading between the lines to me the enforcement officer has taken exception to onionbargee for some reason. So has decided to cause him hassle. This action has then been backed up by his management without them thinking through the consequences. Having met Denise yelland she doesn't strike me as being the sharpest tool in the box. A bit like "the plumber" Regards kris

Peter Palmer will have initiated this. Its how he operates, and now the trust are having to back him up. In truth, the guy should not be in the position he is. He's not equipped for the role.
