I think their boat is quite heavily built and 70 ft long, so there will be already quite some weight, and I don't expect that bike to weight more than 200kgs max. Peter.

Cheers for the replies, lots of good ideas there. Unfortunately it seems the boat sold straight away. At 25K for a beautifully shaped boat in apparent good condition it's hardly surprising. I've been looking for a year now, the hunt goes on!

I hate motorbikes.
................ and cranes
................ but I like storks
I also hate salesmen, especially when you've set your heart on a boat and then it gets sold. Maybe it was a good'un.

I've been looking for a year now, the hunt goes on! Too bad ricco, but there will be another boat somewhere waiting for you, just keep your ears and eyes wide open, and one day (I hope for you that that day may arrive soon) you'll find her, but if it's the right boat for you don't wait too long as you're not the only one searching for that nice boat.
Good luck,
Peter.

I've never been into motorbikes although I did do motorcycle maintenance evening classes (mainly to get knowledge about outboard motors) when I was a teenager.
The RD250 looks like a pretty cool bit of kit. I now like motorbikes

I didn't see any evening classes about outboard motors. Doing a motorcycle course gives almost all the required practical knowledge for dealing with outboard motors. I can't really see why you would do a course on sewing if you were interested in carpentry - I would expect there to be masses of courses on carpentry. evening classes I mean. Not an advanced level. For more advanced boat knowledge I did a marine engineering National Diploma thereby managing to get rid of the motorbike problem.

Nowadays they go for big money, several thousand but the upside of this is that if you look after it, you should at least get your money back.

Yes. Looks like a nice piece of machinery. I suppose its a bit awkward to find a good one with them being 30+ years old.
