I just find it very hard to believe that some ISIS commanders in a land far from here decided that the thing that pissed them off most in the world was the wearing of short skirts and listening to rock 'n' roll music of some people in a country thousands of miles from them. They don't give a shit about the loss of their million dollar poppy crops, the centuries of fucking over their country, the recent wars in the region. No, they are just really pissed off that we have parties and slags. So why did they make the statement? Did this statement come from the people that carried out the attack or from a Telegram account that may or may not belong to someone connected to ISIS? I'm sure there are a few people out there that think like this, but some major international conspiracy to terrorise? Don't you think they don't have more important things to be pissed off about? The whole 'they hate our way of life' spiel doesn't seem plausible. It seems like bullshit. The fact that this is the story that the media try to push so hard makes me want to believe it even less.

Might as well, even though this one is going to be one of those racist rants. Serious question- what is your opinion about the execution of homosexuals because their behaviour is un-Islamic? I'm sure we both despise the behaviour of IS and other violent religious extremists. I'm sure we both despise terrorists who attack us in our own country. That said, are we sure this guy is a terrorist who would be considered medically sane, as opposed to a schizophrenic failed by the UK's appalling mental health system (voices in his head etc)? We don't know yet. Where we differ is that I understand set theory. Most terrorists are brown and Muslim. But that doesn't mean that all brown Muslims are terrorists, far from it since 99%+ of Muslims in this country are peaceable. Did you know that most child rape in this country is perpetrated by white English fathers? So by your logic, presumably you think that all white English fathers should be sent back to where they came from? Racism is where you are prejudiced against an individual purely because of their race (or perhaps religion). That is wrong. You should judge people on their individual merits and failings, since that is how you would expect to be judged by others.

I'm a simple man, Nick, but whenever I see a Muslim person I always think 'terrorist?'
That didn't just come from watching the wrong news channels. These people are attempting to infiltrate the whole world with their unarguable belief that Allah is Great. They're doing it mainly peacefully because we allow them to, in our schools, all aided by this massive push to be diverse.
I'm not sure it's all going to plan, me.

I switched TV and computer off last night.... These attacks make u feel very insecure, which I guess is part of the plan to destabilise the country. The media hype adds to that. TBH I don't like all the guesswork, so many different stories abound..I just want the facts. I know we are all supposed to get out there, and having just spent week in the big smog I would go back. I have caught up now.

Well, I'm glad I kept out of this one. 50% of the comments were predictable.
And now, to bring to your attention Thunderboat's pecking order for this week:
mjg -> bodger: "what an idiot you are Bodger, for a dog you seem to be of very low intelligence.."
bodger -> all: "..................oh, and yes foxy is an idiot, should be denied re-entry privileges"
I'll make the tea, then...

There is good and bad in everything, including religion and us as individuals. The one to watch out for is 'divide and conquer'. Both very bad words! I'm not convinced, human nature is to destroy, that much will be difficult to eradicat - without a doubt. However, removing religion as a convenient shield to hide behind and a stick to beat others with would be a good start. There are a lot of good people and stuff in most religions. The problem is when people use religion to control others for their own gain. The basic message in most religions is to love our creator and each other. There is no love in these attacks, just control, brainwashing and hate. If we prevented people from reading and following the real message from those throughout history who promoted peace ans love, we probably wouldn't be here today. I just hope the world's muslim community can influenece these extremists and prevent them from being manipulated like this.

So when you see a white British father do you think "paedophile"? I suspect not. You just think "terrorist" because they have easily identifiable features that are different from yours. Yes whilst most Muslims just want to go about their business, there are some who want to spread their religion. Now where have I heard of that sort of thing before? Oh yes, Christian missionaries who pervaded the world with their nonsense fantasies. And are STILL DOING IT. When you see two neatly dressed blue-rinsed old ladies at your door trying to convert you to be a Jehovas Witness, do you think they are terrorists and should be sent back to where they came from? Or do you just reach for your shotgun to scare the old bags off? (Just realised that a major advantage of living afloat is that you presumably don't have to suffer religious peddlers at your door!)

I believe you missed someone Foxy Fair point, Maggers! Is this fair too?: "I just find it very hard to believe that some ISIS commanders in a land far from here decided that the thing that pissed them off most in the world was the wearing of short skirts and listening to rock 'n' roll music of some people in a country thousands of miles from them. They don't give a shit about the loss of their million dollar poppy crops, the centuries of fucking over their country, the recent wars in the region. Meanwhile, banning pictures of women in bikinis on the Underground. How does that help?" From here: www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4340290/Truth-t-like-says-KATIE-HOPKINS.html"in a land far from here" - what, Mile End and Tower Hamlets? Birmingham is only an hour and half from Euston.

Re jehovah's witnesses You do get 'em. I had a couple of young women (not nice ones) trying to explain something to me about speaking in tongues etc. I educated them that a deity is physically impossible in this world. They went away when they realised I was lecturing them more than they were lecturing me I've also seen scientologists creeping about on the towpath. We are not immune but probably less affected than someone with a street address and door bell.
