You are always supposed to ask permission to step on someone else's boat. If no-one at home and you need to, do it with resoect and cause no damage. Anyone who boards our boat without the OK will be leaving minus their teeth.
What will you do if they don't have any teeth in the first place?
Anyway it is of course courteous to ask before stepping on someone else's boat, even more courteous to offer permission as soon as a boat comes alongside, before the need might arise.

I always liked the quip added to JESUS SAVES signs.
'Green Shield stamps'.

And then there's the one painted on the railway bridge in Pewsey: JESUS IS COMING and added underneath:
-only if he remembers to change in Reading!

I can't find anything in the T&Cs that I don't agree with. Mind you, I haven't really looked. Nor have I ever been bothered by any of them. Sorry.

But why do I need to make trouble for myself when I see nothing wrong with the way it is?

Just renewed mine online and you have to tick the terms and conditions box for it to work unfortunately. Interestingly they now require you to give them your date of birth which wasn't needed before. Any ides why that is?

Any ides why that is? Direct debit? Or did you use a card? (just thinking it may be a credit check thing).

Direct debit? Or did you use a card? (just thinking it may be a credit check thing). Debit card to pay the year in full. Then I see no need for them to acquire your dob. I wouldn't have given them the correct date. I don't trust them with such sensitive info. I don't trust them with holding personal data.

Butrew I need to make trouble for myself when I see nothing wrong with the way it is? Because its an attempt to rewrite the law without recourse to parliment, to make you accept extra terms that are not lawful, and lie to you that you require a contract with CRT to obtain a licence.

Sorry Tadworth, I'm only just catching up here. Been out croosin! I can see where you're coming from, but those Ts&Cs don't interfere with my cruising style. I think that if I refused to accept those Ts&Cs, I might have a note made on my file. Therefore, whilst I agree in principle, I'd rather not disagree with them!

You have to take what you get then if you agree to sign up to a contract designed to bend the law in one sides favour. You will get screwed, and then when you complain they will say " but everyone's been agreeing to it for years" !

That is a risk for sure, but a remote one compared to the risk of having my card marked. In either case though, since some of the T&Cs seem to go beyond the law, then it doesn't really matter if I agree with them or not, on paper, does it? I agree also about your 'everybody's been agreeing' thing - but that's just it. Nearly everybody DOES agree with them. Just not many around here! Anyway, I admire your standing firm in the face of oppression. But I would have marked your card, too!
