No......most definitely AFTER the splash.
She had it straight (a good gin).
My suggestion that she should take less water with it was not well received.

Paul has been in 3 times in 14 years- twice from commercial boats when engines have had probs & he's slipped on algae. The first time was on the Ashby(on our boat)when his foot slipped on the bow mooring. He came back up complete with glasses & hat.I,however have not been in yet but have the urge to chuck myself in to get it over with.😂

Poor Jane.......I hope you made supper and wrapped her up in fleecy blankets.... I would have thought she would need more than one gin..I would at least need a bottle of vino to recover from something like that....

At least the water was warm! Last time I went in, holding an empty gas bottle it was March (I have been in a few times). She's a bit achy now, but no lasting damage, thanks for the concern. Laundrette tomorrow Rog

I went in the Stort, sometime in the 70's I was on a hire boat.
In those days everything was overgrown and the lock landings were the leap and hope type ...... I leaped hoping it was there .... but it wasn't. I landed on a slippery slope and shot straight down it into about 10 foot of water ....... covered in weed I slowly surfaced with the hammer and spike raised above my head like Excalibur.
(I was damned if I was going to lose it and not get my deposit back)

Well, they do say you're not a proper boater until you've fallen in... I'm a proper boater 3 times over all on my Broads mooring, I remember sitting on the bottom thinking I shouldn't be down here (each time it was winter. I surfaced after slipping on ice and shouted to Chris for the boarding ladder "where shall I put it"she asked, I replied "as near me as bloody possible and she got the hump for swearing, huh. Phil

Just for balance, today we cruised from Rodley up to Saltaire.
Jane didn't fall in once.
