Ok moving out on Friday and as I haven't found the boat I want to buy, I need to find a bit of a stop gap -hopefully 1 to 3 months. Next week is sorted but after that I'm thinking a static caravan maybe my answer.
Looking for something in roughly what could be called 'Central England' or maybe a bit north than that, not too dodgy, not too pricey, can rent based on a weekly basis but extend as agreed, suits one person plus a dog. Would prefer a 'legitable' business rather than just a caravan in a field and very dodgy cash payments.
Asking elsewhere and if I have to move off site for a few days every so often that is no problem.
Any suggestions? PM me if you don't want to mention on an open forum.

Do you have a car? If so buy a cheap touring caravan and stay on a caravan park. Most allow 28 days then you need to move on to another touring park. Saying that you can get a sessional pitch for 3-4 months on some caravan parks. When I used to work away I've stayed on some sites for months. Get in there and tell them you are between houses, any decent park will find a spot as long as you keep your head down.

Car plus towbar fitted plus spare number plate. Tow thingy that does the lights etc now sold. A touring caravan is an option although the only person who I know and would help me is more likely to spend weeks making it fit for habitation and roadworthy....... Not sure if I can/want to ask him to do that..... I'll be brave and ask his thoughts!!!!
Plus I've only ever towed a boat (dinghy) and whenever I got into problems I'd just unhitch and walk the boat to where is was supposed to go!

I'd get a small cheap camper. I lived in mine for 6 months while looking at boats here there and everywhere. Your location is a bit vague, but there are meant to be 1-2 million pensioners living in motorhomes and many sites cater for them at reduced long term rates. Not a bad life at all and your boat will feel like a mansion when you get that far. I know the owner of a site nr Hinckley, but I wouldn't want to send him a twat. Are you a twat?

Stop delaying - get a boat. Why pour money into a caravan? <iframe style="position: absolute; width: 27.279999999999973px; height: 3.9399999999999977px; z-index: -9999; border-style: none;left: 15px; top: -5px;" id="MoatPxIOPT0_90884668" scrolling="no" width="27.279999999999973" height="3.9399999999999977"></iframe> <iframe style="position: absolute; width: 27.28px; height: 3.94px; z-index: -9999; border-style: none; left: 1300px; top: -5px;" id="MoatPxIOPT0_49809334" scrolling="no" width="27.279999999999973" height="3.9399999999999977"></iframe> <iframe style="position: absolute; width: 27.28px; height: 3.94px; z-index: -9999; border-style: none; left: 15px; top: 120px;" id="MoatPxIOPT0_4160100" scrolling="no" width="27.279999999999973" height="3.9399999999999977"></iframe> <iframe style="position: absolute; width: 27.28px; height: 3.94px; z-index: -9999; border-style: none; left: 1300px; top: 120px;" id="MoatPxIOPT0_82772576" scrolling="no" width="27.279999999999973" height="3.9399999999999977"></iframe> Because I don't want a boat like yours - or a project, I've lived in a project for much too long!

Good luck..I lived in a caravan for 3 months at the back of my mums..no toilet or wash facilities..had to pee in a bucket overnight..the 3 kids thought it was fab..ex hubby (we were allegedly 'happily married at this time) ensured he went to sea for 3 months and then when we moved in an old house gave up one day to 'help' then went off to sea again..yep for another 3 months...left me with the kids surrounded by boxes, woodworm in the roof.... I no longer 'do' caravans ....hope u find somewhere....hope its nicer than the damp infested mildew wreck I lived in...
