I would be in there with a paintbrush and a tin of black stuff, cheap way to get a couple of coats on!

I replaced the rotten wooden bilge keels on my old Dawncraft 22 by building brick piers, floating boat on, draining pound, put a tarp on the floor and got on with it. Replaced with black polythene "timber".

It's just as well that you have a high boredom threshold and find these bits of scrap interesting, cos it doesn't look like you can go boating for a while!

I believe Mr Stabby found a bed in the canal a while ago in a shockingly scrotey area.

The pound I moor in has drained down a bit, my boat stern had been sitting up on a bank of silt. I washed the silt back with the egg whisk, then just been and dug it away. Some interesting finds. 2 screw caps and a tiller pin so far. I've found far more useful stuff than that without ever having to drain a pound, birdbrain.

The pound drained itself. Ner Ner ne Ner Ner! 4.5 inch Ball from an early swing bridge turntable. One ink and one medicine bottle and a brass hose connector.

Nicest find, a complete stubby clay pipe.

Nice clay pipe.
Cannon ball is a pretty good find too. I have had a few out with the magnet over the years.
